Sustainable Skincare Made from Bio-Based Materials

EGGXPERT is a sustainable startup in The Netherlands, Maastricht and we consist of 4 Asian women, working towards a better environment for our future.

Why fund EGGXPERT?

Our mission is to reduce biowaste by giving it a new life. We use a combination of scientific knowledge and traditional knowledge to deliver the hidden value of eggshell and eggshell membranes. In the Netherlands alone, around 180 tons of eggshell waste fill up landfills every day! However, the eggshells are a valuable source when the mineral shell and the inner membrane are separated.

We are very aware of the animal abuse and cruelty behind many poultry farms. Though we are fighting against biowaste and the waste of eggshells with our product, we also value animal rights. That is why 1% of our profit goes to "Compassion in world farming". 

Furthermore, the eggshells we obtain are from responsible and ethical poultry farms.

What are the benefits of eggshell membrane (ESM)?

There are many benefits to using eggshell membranes. It possesses wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties. Furthermore, it also reduces skin aging from UV damage, increases collagen production and cellular activity.

Our first bio-based sheet mask: SCND SKIN

We want to contribute to a more sustainable circular future.  Our product is made from hydrolyzed

eggshell membrane, which is separated from the mineral shell and turned into water-soluble powder which can be used for many applications. 

Our first product will be a bio-based sheet mask. Both the product and packaging are environmentally friendly.  The sheet mask itself is made from natural cellulose, which is biodegradable. The packaging is made from cardboard and the sachet is made from alumina multi-layers. SCND SKIN is :

• Cruelty-free

Why do we want to have crowdfunding?

We want to include social investors in the product development phase. Generally speaking, sustainable claimed products are more expensive than products without sustainable labels. With the support of crowdfunding, we can save capital interests and keep costs low, which will benefit the end-users. 

Furthermore, with more support, we could unveil more sustainable options on a bigger scale and expand our product portfolios, which will benefits more customers who shared common sustainable living lifestyles.
