Traditional 1:1 mentorship is time-consuming, limited in reach, and unable to reflect all identities and experiences. Mentorship isn’t the problem. It just can’t solve all the needs women want it to. 

OwnTrail is a new platform for women to give and receive the inspiration, insight and solidarity they need to face decisions with confidence and boldly blaze their own trails.

We’ve taken the most powerful aspects of mentorship — sharing your story, asking questions, feeling seen — and combined it with the speed, access and scale of technology. 

On OwnTrail, womxn share their unique path through life as a series of interconnected milestones (both personal and professional). Owning your story in this way builds confidence, reclaims control of your narrative and is a powerful give to other women — those who are facing similar obstacles, those with shared identities, those who aspire to where you are today.

Together, the collection of all these different paths — and the real conversations you can have around them — on OwnTrail provides more help than a single person ever could. It’s not having one mentor: it’s having an abundance of women’s life experiences and insights at your fingertips whenever you need it.

On OwnTrail, you can filter by the attributes that matter most to you, which is almost always more than a single identity or set of experiences that can be found in a single mentor. It’s mentorship, reimagined. 

We’re raising $20,000 to go from our beta release to our full launch.  These funds will go towards development costs as we build out our data science models and level up our offering to help ALL women envision goals, create plans and navigate the twists and turns in their journeys.

This includes new features like personalized recommendations, mapping aspirations to actions and predictive path suggestions. 

Our woman-led team knows how to build both brands and tech products...and we approach it from a people-first mindset. Each of us has spent more than 15 years working in tech, including executive roles in product, marketing and culture.

But just as importantly, we’re passionate about finding a solution to a problem we’ve felt firsthand. We’ve had dozens and dozens of coffee chats each with women uncertain about their paths through life. We’ve been that woman.
