As a social justice food truck, we aim to sell pupusas and give scholarships. By championing cultural appreciation and higher education, we provide a delicious product, with a side of social justice. Check out the video above, it's an oldie but great coverage on who we are and our mission!
While we're in the pupusa business, we originally started as a means to and end to fund 8-10 scholarships per year for undocumented and DACAmented students. These renewable, $1,000 yearly scholarships can be renewed for up to four years, totaling in $4,000 to support our students goals in pursuing higher education.
We are seeking funding to get our food trucks back to operational after shutting down in 2020 due to the pandemic. We have some overhead expenses we needed to cover in 2020 that left us in a bit of debt, and we need some funds to start back up again. Who's looking forward to #NationalPupusaDay2021?!? WE ARE! Help us make sure we can make it happen :)
Our team remains family run at our core, with a great support staff of youth in the Durham community. Our second community food truck has been purchased, and we are working on a business model to get it working for community folks! Stay tuned!
Thank you for your support! With your contributions we can make sure #therevolutioniswellfed and restore #pupusapowertothepeople!
