Annie Brown is the Founder & CEO of Lips, a cryptographic creative sharing platform for women*.
In 2010 Annie graduated from William and Mary with degrees in Women’s Studies and Economic History, and received highest honors for my thesis on the globalized business practices of Cosmopolitan Magazine.
She also holds a degree in Gender and Development from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, where I worked with Humsafar Trust - a USAid funded HIV prevention program focused on the Hijra (Transgender) Community.
After graduating, Annie worked with Planned Parenthood, Grameen Bank, and served as Marketing Director for two Y Combinator companies and The Women’s Startup Lab.
She is also a writer for Future of Sex and Bitch Magazine and has been invited to speak at The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality and The Absolute Sum Blockchain Hackathon at UCSD. In May of 2019, she will be speaking at the YTH Live Summit in San Francisco on the topic of "Building a Better Internet For Women: How Cryptography Can Benefit Women’s Mental and Sexual Health.”
