So often adults ask children, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" without ever sharing the options. We are here to share the options.
Project Description
I have been a classroom teacher in the public sector for fourteen years. One thing I know for sure is that our children can not be what they can not see. Too often, students are asked about their career aspirations with the overly familiar question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" But, what are the options? We rarely share the options. I created Yellow Bus Education, Careers in Color to share the options. Yellow Bus Education, Careers in Color will highlight 180 different career options, every academic year. Students will receive real information from real people in a real way. Students will learn that vast opportunities await them in every career field.
We are seeking funding to hire a professional videographer to edit and personalize the first two editions of our career catalog, mail participants informational packets, and add career information cards to the catalog for each student to collect for the careers of their interest.
We aim to have our program enrich the academic experience for students in 8,000 schools by 2030. Thank you for helping us show students all across America their options.

- Will this type of program work? Oh Yes! During our case study, 100% of the students were introduced to multiple careers during the trial period.
- What type of school is expected to receive this program? This program is designed for public, private, charter and homeschools.
- How are video participants selected? Participants are volunteers. Their videos are viewed and edited to ensure content is appropriate and 5-7 minutes.
