Q. How do you pronounce “Xi Xon” and what does it mean?
A. Xí Xọn, pronounced “see-sONg”, is a Vietnamese adjective that means vain, provocative or sassy. My parents would use this term to discourage unladylike, inappropriate behavior or dress. I am reclaiming this phrase and overturning narrow, patriarchal ideals of women (read: quiet, pretty, happy and skinny).

The tintype process is a sublime expression and emotive pose that takes experimentation and practice. Discover and commemorate your inner goddess/ siren under the body positive guidance of sassy, warm and knowledgeable photographer and artist Maurene Cooper. @vanitytintype @cooperadooper
This package includes a 30 minute zoom meeting to discuss costuming, composition options, mood, make up, etc. As well as 2 hours of studio shooting time. In the 2 hour shoot Cooper will produce 4 to 6 tintype plates using a large format camera at 8x10". Some of these plants may be variations on the same pose or variations in lighting. Expect a minimum of 2 poses but no more than 3 (tintype is a precise and time consuming process). The client receives 2 tintype plates at 8” x 10”, with edited scanned versions of the chosen plates. The additional plates may be purchased at the time of the secession.
If the client wishes to upgrade, shooting black glass or shooting on a location, this price difference must be paid by the client before the shoot.
Hair and make-up is the client's responsibility
The client must handle their own transportation to the Philadelphia studio.
