Woman Made Gallery Sustainability Fund
Help our art gallery become sustainable in celebration of its 30 years of centering women and non-binary artists and their work.

Project Description
Woman Made Gallery is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Woman Made Gallery is a space for women and non-binary artists, including trans women and femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer artists. We welcome artists from our local community, regionally based, and around the world.
Since our founding in 1992, WMG has shown the artistic work of over 9,000 women and non-binary artists in 445 exhibitions. Nine exhibitions are hosted annually at WMG in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. WMG boasts a membership base of over 300 artists annually. To date, WMG has provided professional development workshops and connected members to over 15,000 supporters via networking events and online promotion. WMG hosts conversations on the issues that matter most to women and that makes sense of the world through a feminist lens.
Our Vision
Woman Made Gallery’s vision is to ensure the equal placement of women’s art in the world.
Our Mission
Woman Made Gallery (WMG) supports, cultivates and promotes the diverse contributions of women and non-binary artists through exhibitions, membership and community dialogue programs.
Why are we seeking funding?
Over the last 30 years Woman Made Gallery has been entirely reliant on the labor of volunteers to run its operations and on gallery attendees to fund its costs for space. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit we realized our model was no longer sustainable and we needed to find a different way to create meaningful experiences for audiences, exposure opportunities for women and non-binary artists, and pay individuals for their time to support this work. This campaign is the first of many strategies our small but mighty nonprofit organization will use to help continue our history of centering the work of women and non-binary artists through local exhibitions and virtual offerings while expanding our potential to further develop ways to create more accessible art experiences no matter where you are.
Our Team
The organization is currently staffed by Darshita Jain. The fundraising efforts are driven by staff and board members.
Thank You!
We want to thank you for taking the time to considering supporting our work and helping us become more sustainable so we can continue to cultivate incredible talent in the future.
