About

The Us Space is intentionally creating space for women of color & women-centric organizations to thrive. We are positioning ourselves to be the lightning rod where our collective can find what they need, be seen, supported, and for people to find us. An inclusive community, ‘the table’ is built for our members specifically in mind.

We are a social impact women-centric business that is answering the challenges of accessibility, lack of community, loneliness, & finding an alternative for the traditional office and working from home. By offering one centralized space where women can find the resources they need and want.

The Us Space is focused on appealing to women of color that are working professionals and business owners, the teams they lead, & women-centric organizations. These groups are not typically marketed to in the shared space sector. This is an untapped market; many women of color either do not know about shared space communities or do not feel the current options meet their needs: physically, mentally, or emotionally.

Power of the P's:

Programming - Membership-powered programming such as hands-on workshops, conferences, and training for personal & professional development.

Partnerships -  Opportunities to collaborate with others, build meaningful relationships, and increase your ecosystem to increase visibility and exposure.

Prosperity - Positioning to increase and expand personal income and business revenue through prosperous relationships, client attraction, and quality career connections.

Professionalism - Be seen, heard, and validated as a professional without feeling the need to change what makes you unique or the fear of being judged for having fun while handling your business.

Productivity - Access to accountability partners who will root for you to succeed, challenge you to push past your goals, and eliminate the feeling of isolation so you can decrease procrastination and get sh*t done.

We infuse this into everything we do, and membership-powered programming is one of them. On July 17th, we had our very first membership-powered programming, the Melanin Minds Mental Health Conference. Since then, our programming calendar has been filling up with even more awesome workshops and events our collective has got up its sleeve.

What have we been up to?

Everything! We are building out our community...there is always something happening.

Here's what we've accomplished over the last year:

• Established a virtual work accountability day called THE PLUG 
• Grown our membership with active members all over the country
• Racked up over 1500+ collaborative hours and 195 shared resources 
• Secured a major partnership to be temporarily housed in a physical space in Houston, Texas
• Participated in 4 business accelerators/programs

How We Will Grow...

Think about The Us Space as the galleria of shared space... our members will be able to walk in and get to work without worrying about your superpowers of being a Woman of Color or a Woman in leadership hinder you! The Us Space will be located in historical areas such as Houston's 3rd and 5th wards. The idea here is not to create isolated space in communities of color but to foster innovation in the city and a new economy while prospering within our communities.

The Founder

LaGina R Harris is an entrepreneur. Her brand, LaRae Infinity, is built around uplifting and bringing positive energy to marginalized people by being socially responsible. LaRae Infinity strives to challenge the norm and bring supportive growth to communities. LaGina is the creator, host, and producer of the LaRae Infinity “Let's Talk” family of podcasts and Stomping Ground Radio Show on All Real Radio.

She is also an accomplished event planner, fundraiser, and artist. Well-versed in her professional experiences, LaGina’s background includes organizational consulting, training, facilitation, curriculum writing, student retention, and hosting/moderating.

As an Artist, Creative Consultant and Podcaster, LaGina created The Us Space out of a personal need and quickly grew to understand that collaborative community with intentional space is needed by professional women...period. She truly believes in the importance of being intentional in everything that has to do with The Us Space: the colors, the logo, the messaging, building THE TABLE and not asking or hoping to be invited to one, and taking the time to make sure each member is getting the unique support they need to thrive!
