Urban Business Directory

The Urban Business Directory's mission is to support the growth and longevity of black-owned businesses.  We connect consumers to black-owned businesses, independent contractors and entrepreneurs. #buyingblackthecommunity is an initiative that all people from every race, orientation, sex and background can take part in. We encourage everyone to be a champion for equity, access, and success.

Small black businesses are often overlooked or cannot afford the marketing services necessary to compete against industry competitors. This is where Urban Business Directory steps in. We are not your average business directory. We offer affordable paid social media marketing, advertising and SEO services that generate revenue for our clients. 

We are a team of 4 that just launched in November 2020 yet we currently have over 500 black-owned businesses that we are providing services for.  We build relationships with our clients to ensure that they receive the results that they need. We have grown at an unprecedented rate - something we did not anticipate. However, the need for our business is great. In 2020, there were more than 2 million Black-owned businesses in the United States, and it will only increase. Furthermore, 58% of Black business owners believe their business is “at risk” or “distressed” due the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of black business owners had to close up shop. The Urban Business Directory wants to solve these problems and serve as a resource for black-owned business to use when they cannot afford marketing and promotion services. 

44% of black business owners use their cash to fund their business. We are no different. Funding will provide the Urban Business Directory with the opportunity to continue to empower and champion black-owned businesses. We will be able to continue to invest in black businesses through strategic paid marketing campaigns, create enriched SEO blog articles, curate engaging content, host virtual business networking events, provide scholarship opportunities for HBCU students, and build a team that is equipped to assist the growing list of clients that want us to help them grow their business, expand their network and generate revenue. 

We are passionate about connecting consumers to small black businesses who continue to strive to excel yet struggle to compete. The Urban Business Directory is committed to ensuring the success of these businesses. 

Funding will help us close the economic gap, fix the inequity and empower thousands of black business owners which will then result to building equity, power, prosperity and morale within the community.
