This coming Friday, May 1st was the day we were to board the plane to Amsterdam with my dear Dad, and celebrate with gusto the 75th Anniversary of Liberation.
Sadly, it's not to be. The corona virus has grounded us all and my Dad's sudden death last month was heartbreaking.
Now more than ever, this legacy is determined to be in the world. It will get there. Not right now, but it will when the time is right.
The country of The Netherlands and the Dutch committee are rescheduling their big Liberation Celebration, and have plans for next year, calling it "75 + 1". If all goes as planned, the project will be realized next May.
The campaign is still open, active, and people can contribute to it, so please share this but only if you think it's appropriate. I'm sensitive to, what for many is a financial crisis right now, and I can't in good conscious continue asking for money. I'm holding off putting the campaign "out there".
Here's the good news... despite everything, we are over 35% of the goal!
