Stupid Little Things is Here!

So often, we think other people’s lives are much more exciting than ours. But most of our lives are the same. And in reality, most of our days are unremarkable. Maybe you run a few errands, work your 8+ hours, eat dinner, watch TV, and go to bed.

Ideally, you find someone who wants to do life with you. Someone who wants to hear about that moment at the grocery store, that letter you got in the mail, that phone call or appointment you had to make, that one thing you’ve been procrastinating. Many of us just want someone along for the ride as we wade through the muddy, monotonous waters of life.

When we lose someone who did life with us for a long time, it feels like a deep, dark hole has been carved through our chest. It hurts to miss that person who called us at 2pm on a Wednesday, just to see how our day was going. Those little check-ins disappear. Sometimes losing these little things can be the most painful thing of all.

I wrote this song, Stupid Little Things, after losing someone like this. While it’s very sad, I hope it can bring you some catharsis if you’ve been through a similar type of loss.
