Dear Supporters of Kidizenship,
In just four weeks we've blown past our $75,000 goal! I'm over the moon. We're proud and so fortunate to have done this two weeks before the deadline -- and to be among the few campaigns that have met their goals early. Thank you, thank YOU, for making this possible!
The campaign has generated so much interest and excitement -- and so many powerful new media and partnership opportunities -- that we have decided to extend it, and to stretch the goal by $20,000. We're thrilled to have attracted the attention of foundations and large donors, and it's clear that the more we raise now with your help, the more long-term funding we'll secure through grants that can build and sustain the enterprise for many years (and election cycles) to come.
With nearly $77,000 raised, we're aiming to reach $95,000 by May 28th.
We have had a record number of incredible submissions from kids nationwide for our latest contest, "Make Your Speech," and just announced our finalists last week. Our judges, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jon Favreau, Baratunde Thurston, and Rep. Will Hurd are doing the very hard work of selecting the winners as I type. I cannot wait for you to hear these young presidents SPEAK. Winners will be announced next week. Soon thereafter, we'll share some thrilling news about the judges for our upcoming "Sing Your Anthem" contest!
YOU are the Founding Community of Kidizenship. Your contributions and belief in this project will carry it forward for years--and, I believe, many decades--to come.
If you're inspired to share the campaign with your community and help us through this final stretch, we'd be immeasurably grateful. You've already done so much and I want to say, above all, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. We quite literally couldn't have done it without you.
