Update #16 Campaign Updates, Exchanges + Refunds Policy + Join Discord

Hi everyone!

We are nearing the end of our campaign for Path of Kami, with one week left we’d like to share future plans with you and updates! We’ll also share important information about the platform and info such as Exchange, Refund, and Returns Policy. So this may get a little lengthy with all the official jargon!

But first...Campaign Updates + Plans! :)

Campaign Updates + Plans

First off, I would like to thank you for your amazing support and interest in the studio and Path of Kami! The campaign has been an amazing experience, teaching us about crowdfunding in general, getting lots of feedback on the game, and growing our community.

This wouldn’t have been possible without you, thank you so much!! <3

Some cool stuff that has happened during the campaign so far:

  • We had a ton of awesome youtubers, streamers and other content creators check out the game!
  • We launched our Demo on itch io, gamejolt, and Game Round (steam is coming next month!)
  • We got featured by the game engine we’re using, Unreal.
  • We exhibited at Otronicon, Waffle Games, Game Carnival, and was a nomination for weekly fan favorite for the Game Development World Championship!
  • We’ll also be exhibiting at the Steam Next Festival Next Month
  • The Path of Kami Prologue teaser trailer hit 2k+ views!

We are 38% towards our funding goal with one week left. We have slowly been sending out early surveys to get social media for shout-outs and special discord roles (if applicable). If you haven’t received one yet no worries we’ll be sending it out once the campaign ends as well!

About the platform

We want to be completely transparent in our goals and plans. We came to the IFundWomen (IFW) platform to get early funding for the prologue and to help offset development costs while making the game. IFW isn’t an ‘all or nothing’ platform like Kickstarter or other platforms out there, it’s a flexible platform that allows extensions and lots of flexibility. (we’ll talk more about how this goes into our plans with path of kami later in this update)

Keep in mind, supporting an IFW campaign isn’t like buying a product from a store, it's supporting a business or service that is to be delivered at a later date. Your support helps make it possible for us to continue working on the game and to create the rewards. The funds are directly spent for us to be able to make the content outlined on the campaign page as well.

Not all rewards will be immediately available after the campaign ends, we will be actively updating everyone on the rewards as they are worked on and keep everyone updated on deliverables! :)

Path of Kami Plans

Regardless if we make our funding goal or not we plan on moving forward with the prologue. Our goal with the campaign was to get funds to help offset development costs so already we’ve met our goal in that regard! If we meet our campaign funding goal it’d allow us to complete the prologue at a faster time and of course help with the costs of development (making games is very expensive!).

If we don’t make our goal within the timeframe we plan on doing the following:

  • Keeping the campaign open until the rest of the year for anyone who would like to donate
  • Remove physical rewards but keep digital rewards open!
  • Continue development on the prologue

The Path of Kami Demo is going to be showcased at the Steam Next Festival next month, this is the biggest milestone we’ve had ( besides this campaign :D ) we plan on taking everyone’s feedback and thoughts. If the reception is positive we plan on trying to crowdfund on Kickstarter for the full game. In the case that we do and its successful, as early supporters you’d get a free key to the full game.

Exchanges, Refunds or Returns

As were nearing the end of the campaign we wanted to share policies on exchanges, refunds or returns.

Exchanges

If you’d like to exchange the rewards you’re due to receive please reach out to us as soon as possible at [email protected] with details on what changes you’d like to make.

Please note that we are only able to exchange rewards of equivalent value and they aren’t guaranteed for every case. For any unique or custom assets once they are delivered or started they cannot be exchanged or edited. We’ll try to help as much as we can if an issue arises and we’ll try our best to work things out! :)

Refunds or returns

Remember supporting the campaign isn’t like buying a product at a store and doesn’t have a refund system. All your contributions goes towards making the game and delivering the rewards. We will fulfill each reward to the best of our abilities, and we will always fulfill rewards as soon as we can :)

For rewards that are expected to be delivered at a later time we will be sending surveys soon to get the necessary information we’ll need to get them made and send frequent updates on their progress and delivery :) If we become aware of any delays, we will let you know as soon as possible.

If you have significant concerns, questions, or are unhappy with your delivered rewards, please reach out to us at [email protected] we’ll work with you to figure out a solution.

Thank you for being part of this amazing journey with us, we’ll continue to try our best with the campaign!
