Our Mission​​​​​​

Tyler Tax Service is a financial services company dedicated to the financial education of its clients and community. In the wake of COVD 19, we’ve made it easy for clients to get their taxes done by offering a secure, virtual appointment platform. In addition to preparing taxes for individuals, we offer financial literacy courses and webinars to empower, equip and educate the Black community in an effort to help close the wealth gap between Black and White households.

The Problem We Are Solving

In 2019 the median white household held $188,200 in wealth, which is 7.8 times that of the average Black household ($24,100). At Tyler Tax Service, we are working hard to change that narrative. Although we are physically located in Atlanta, GA, our virtual platform allows us to reach customers nationwide.

How We Are Solving The Problem

Our full tax experience comes with a detailed tax analysis, enabling us to identify the clients’ areas for financial growth. Over the past 2 years, we have successfully helped clients reach financial goals such as homeownership, starting small businesses, and decreasing annual tax liability. Through our tax resolution program, we’ve helped clients reduce or eliminate IRS tax balances, penalties and interest. Our team works hard to stay on top of current industry news, events, and government policy changes. We relay it to our clients in a way that is relatable and simple to understand.

How We Plan To Use The Funding

We are seeking funding so that we can continue to hire, train and develop more black female tax professionals to be a part of our team to grow and carry out this mission. Recently we have signed an agreement to become an IRS authorized Service Bureau as a reseller of the tax software that we use. We are in the process of onboarding additional black female tax business owners to not only utilize this software to run their business but to also implement the same blueprint, mission and values that we have adopted in running Tyler Tax Service, which is to serve and lead financial empowerment in the Black community. We will use the funding for the apps and platforms necessary to host the proper training of our new hires and tax office partners and to help execute our training conference to be held in the Fall of 2021.

Mignon Williams, MBA

President and CEO

Mignon Williams has experience in the financial services industry for over 18 years. Mignon is native of New Orleans, LA, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Alabama A&M University, has an MBA from the University of Georgia, and a Certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell University. Experienced in retail and corporate banking and financial services, Mignon decided to use her years of excellent customer service and attention to detail to start Tyler Tax Service. She is dedicated to helping others and equipping people with knowledge to improve their lives. Mignon truly has a servant’s heart, working tirelessly to financially educate and empower her community.

Jazmine Carson

Jazmine comes to Tyler Tax Service with a wealth of knowledge in client and customer service expertise from American Honda Finance Corporation. She has over 100 hours of training and IRS Approved Continuing Education Courses in tax law and tax preparation. What she enjoys most about working in the tax industry is making new connections and helping people engage with businesses they like, know and trust.

Constance Gordon

Constance holds a Master’s Degree from Alabama A&M University which has been pivotal in her role at Tyler Tax Service. Constance helps to manage new clients get successfully onboarded and runs the day to day operations of the business. She is extremely helpful and pleasant and has been deemed to deliver “Chick Fil A- level” customer service with her signature smile and line “my pleasure.”. What she likes about the tax business is that it’s a great way to build a legacy and it’s rewarding being able to explain things to clients they didn’t know before that could help them reach their financial goals.

Clients love Ahkira for her bubbly personality and straightforward approach to solving problems in helping people “get to the bag.” Her favorite part about doing taxes is helping to educate people & elevate her community with a service that benefits their financial situations and literacy.
