Our Brand's Story

Taupe Coat is not new to the nail care industry. The brand was founded in 2016 by former attorney turned beauty entrepreneur, Bethany JP.

Beth first discovered clean beauty in the early 2000's, while battling Crohn’s Disease. She was devastated when she learned the disease had no cure, but decided to do what she could to improve her quality of life. The first step was to clear her beauty cabinet of products with known carcinogens or other harmful ingredients.  

Non-toxic nail care was such a comfort to her at that time because it allowed her to maintain some normalcy in her beauty routine, without feeling like she was sacrificing her health just to look good. Beth started Taupe Coat with the hopes that it would do the same for other people looking to live a non-toxic life. Taupe Coat strives to offer easy ways nail care lovers can maintain a healthy lifestyle, but look good and express their personality at the same time!

The Issue

To some, there's only two options for nail care: either you only paint your nails at home or you go to the salon for acrylics. But those are the old days! Nail care as we once knew it has evolved. Which means Taupe Coat must evolve too.

Taupe Coat's solution

There are so many options for non toxic nail care now. Consumers are rethinking the "traditional" nail care routine and opting for alternatives that fit their health concerns and personality.

• Do you like to change your nail polish weekly but can't sit still to let polish dry? Sounds like you need temporary reusable nails!
• Are you busy with life and/or work and only want to get your nails done once a month? Vegan gel polish is what you need then. 
• Are you a man who realizes that rough hands and feet are very not sexy? Then our new mani set for men may be for you. 
• Do your kids love wearing polish but you have concerns about the ingredients? Taupe Coat's vegan nail polish is great for the kiddies. 

Taupe Coat is growing to provide our customers with a more convenient non-toxic nail care routine. We’re expanding our product line, adding vegan gel polish, temporary reusable nails, a vegan nail glue, and a manicure set for our male customers. We’re even working on a children's line which our mom customers have been requesting for YEARS. 

How you can support us! 

We are raising $15,000 to help us fund the next phase of Taupe Coat. Funds raised will be used to:

• obtain vegan certification;
• complete manufacturing of new vegan gel polish line (in progress); 
• begin development of a vegan nail glue; and
• purchase new bottles for children's line.
