- What is the mission of your company or project? Away Together is a SaaS, mobile application that creates a secure, sustainable communication channel for travelers on vacation. Our mission is to reduce paper waste through hotel to guest communication, increase revenue for the location by guest to guest communication and share activities, and allow for traveler access to cultural and historical gems in the area.
- Describe the problem you are solving. The truth is - communication at hotels - sucks. The current system of communication consists of white boards in the lobbies, phone calls, or letters under doors. Some accommodations have their own individual applications, but let's be real - who wants to have 20 applications for every destination you go to?Away Together brings the components of the travel industry together in a safe and unified manner. Through a unique property identifier, the platform remains safe and does not allow for non-travelers to have access to the platform.
- What is the market size/opportunity? Global travel and tourism GDP is slightly over $5.8 trillion USD and the industry is growing at a rate of 13.9%. The revenue generated by our first three target martkets is $2.4 trillion, and of that, 68% of travelers currently are willing to use a mobile application to streamline their travel experience, which equates to slightly over $1.6 trillion.
- What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem? Away Together is a SaaS, mobile application that provides safe & sustainable communication for travel. The app allows for hotel to guest communication, guest to guest interactions, and access to off-the-beaten path opportunities to allow for more connectivity to cultural, historical, and social impact activities and events.
- Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding? We are expanding into Saudi Arabia and plan on using funding to hire a team both in the Caribbean and Saudi Arabia.
- Who is on your team? Melanie Brewer, CEO - I have a Masters Degree in Strategic Communication from Penn State and a Bachelors in International Business. I have spent over 18 years in the Public Relations and Marketing Industry in management positions. Most of all - I am a problem solver. We established the need for Away Together while in Turks on Caicos on a vacation. As a rainstorm came through the island, we thought: why can't we see who else at the accommodation wants to play a game of cards? And so, Away Together was born. John Beuchert, COO - John has a Bachelors of Administration of Justice from Penn State and is an expert communicator. He has been a law enforcement officer for over 20 years. John is focused on the safety component of the application as well as working with the platform development team.

- The staffing at the hotel I manage is limited, how can you make their jobs more efficient? We offer one-way notifications from the accommodation to the guest. If the staff needs to communicate something it is as easy as sending a text message or an email. Conversely, guests need to use traditional methods to contact the staff. This way your staff is not constantly on a phone or computer looking for messages. Also, this eliminates the expensive, cumbersome, and time consuming mission of delivering notes under doors and dealing with guest complaints that they weren't informed.
- Our guests want to see what is going on, but otherwise just want to read a book on the beach, can they do that?Yes! Simply have the guest go into the settings menu and toggle on/off what ever features they will utilize.
- The hotel I own is relatively small and our budget is limited, how does your pricing work? We primarily operate as a monthly subscription based on the size of your accommodation. Please contact us so we can discuss what pricing and payment options work best for you.
- Does it cost anything for the guest to use the application? No, Away Together is absolutely free to the guest.
- How much does it cost for the hotel? Currently, we're running a promotion for free on-boarding. Monthly, it costs the hotel on average $200 per month.
