"Stop & Stare" With The Walking Billboard

Our Mission

The Walking Billboard is a conscious clothing brand that utilizes expressive messaging to provide empowerment, liberation and mental health awareness, for black and brown people. Our mission is to make onlookers stop and stare by bringing awareness to the cultural, political and social injustices that plague our community.

Our Products

Our clothing brand draws a large emphasis on t-shirts with expressive messaging but we also carry crewnecks, hoodies, mugs and eco-friendly tote bags. Our Kids Line is all about expressive t-shirts that empower black and brown youth!

The Problems

There is an opportunity to address the following problems: Black and brown voices are often ignored, making it quite difficult to engage in conversations centered around racism, generational trauma and our lived experience. The fashion industry embraces black culture, but not black and brown people. If we make up 13.4% of the US population, we should occupy 13.4% of shelf space in employment and entrepreneurship. Our Black History has been reduced to one month. That simply isn't enough time to highlight the talent, intellect and innovation that black pioneers have provided in this country.

The Solutions

The Walking Billboard solves these problems by providing solutions that:

1. Removes the emotional labor required to engage in conversations centered around being Black in America.
2. We are 100% black owned and operated by two women. 
3. We utilize statistics to amplify black history and black culture on our merchandise that isn't seasonal. 

What Will The Funds Go To?

The funding we acquire will be used to increase inventory, production and marketing. Your donations will also allow us to increase efficiency by purchasing more equipment due to high demand. 

The Power of Brand Partnerships

Speaking of powerful, what better way to increase brand awareness than to partner with other businesses with the same goals and work ethics as you? We’ve had the pleasure to work with three powerful black owned and operated companies, all run by other black women who are doing the work. Health By Water, a black-owned skin care line, Reading Revolutionaries, a subscription box of children’s books and Women of Color Unite and the JTC List, a social action and non-profit organization that focuses on remedying that women of color face in the entertainment and media industries. Needless to say, we love working with other women, hence why I Fund Women is the perfect platform for The Walking Billboard.

Community Reviews

Not only have we established a clothing brand, we’ve also built a community that supports our mission and vision and wanted to become walking billboards. Our Team

We are two black women whose personal experience mirrors that of our consumers. We are surrounded by cultural, political and social warfare through family, peers and workplace engagement. Together we bring retail and sales experience, a psychology and criminal justice background and community activism that supports our brand’s mission.
