We just want to share ours with the world. ..

Project Description
STBA Littles:
I, along with the assistance of other community organizations will be presenting a project this winter where our local kids can act, record, sing, dance and put on an original production at one of our local theaters. The kids will attend short workshops in acting, rapping, dancing, "time travel" ( history lessons), etc with the appropriate mentor for each workshop. At the end of the sessions the kids will present an original production highlighting Chestertown Maryland's African American business owners atmosphere before the Little's were born. Then transition into the current culture of the Little’s at this time. Sort of a local time travel on stage.
STBA(SmalltownsBIGARTISTS)works essentially the same as the Little's, just with adults. STBA strives to educate the collective Big and small on protecting and collecting from their musical works. STBA will assist STBA Little’s throughout this project. I will be providing healthy food options, transportation to and from workshops, supplies for activities, etc. Lot’s of our local kid’s and adults are interested in the art’s but due to transportation and/or funding are not able to participate or locate these activities in our rural area. I want to provide a performing opportunity to STBA(the adults) as well to express their art during these times. Sorta of a live open mic intimate experience from one of our Local stages at Sumner Hall.
STBA has received two grants this year, The Chesapeake Heartland Fund Fellowship https://chesapeakeheartland.org/events/small-town-big-artists-inc and the A Chesapeake Heritage Stories Area grant https://storiesofthechesapeake.org/fy21-small-grant-awards/ that allowed these projects to happen. I would like to continue our work as our two funding options for this year come to a close. I am asking for Funding to rent a Brick and mortar location in my hometown( I live an hour away) for a year. To be able to compensate workshop supplies and the workshop leaders ,which includes a Chef for healthy food options. As well as myself as the STBA Director. I solely work on project idea outlines, grant applications and workshop set ups. I do this all from my cellphone and would greatly welcome the ability to purchase a laptop for STBA.
I would like STBA " headquarters " (rental location) to eventually serve as a safe haven for artists. I know how it feels to have nowhere to live and nowhere to create. I want those basic life qualities to always be available.
Thank you for your time it is greatly appreciated,
Teverly Ann --
