Project Description
My name is Carin Francis. I am a single mother of two active teenagers, Kade and Cyleigh. My mission is to raise enough funds to pay down the purchase of Alpha Material Handling (AMH). I've been working for AMH for 10 years. The owners have been amazing to me, though they are ready to retire. They want me to purchase the business from them to continue its success and expand. Becoming the AMH Owner is a fantastic opportunity for myself and my family.
AMH has been a material handling dealer for 20 years. We help companies utilize their facility space, ergonomic equipment, heavy lifting, and storage equipment. Although not many women are in this line of work, it is a unique and thriving industry. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to build trust with our customers and complete several large projects.
AMH offers a wide variety of material handling products, including Mezzanines, Modular Inplant Offices, Hydraulic Lift Tables, Conveyors, and Overhead Cranes. We cover industries in both manufacturing and distribution, such as Automotive Dealerships, Government, Packaging Manufacturers, Johnson & Johnson, and many more.
I'm working on an SBA 7(a) Loan, though I need to come up with 10% down. These funds will cover my down payment and give me a little for working capital. The working capital is to cover overhead costs, help with new hires, and continue projects during the sale.
AMH is a WOSB, with me and the owners (husband & wife). I plan to keep the company a WOSB with myself as the majority owner, my partner, Chris Shrum, as Sales Manager, my daughter, for Office Admin, as she graduates soon, and hire 3-4 outside sales representatives for the surrounding areas where we have existing customers. This opportunity helps secure my family's future and my children's. They can learn the industry while young and eventually take over to ensure their families' future.
