1-Why is this caregiving app different from what is out in the market? 

This is not just another account portal! SimpliHere focuses on communication for caregiving scenarios in which the individual has severe communication and mobility challenges as a result of conditions such as ALS, Stroke, and other neurodegenerative or long-term illnesses. Communication and visibility into the day-to-day care of a patient is the first priority. The app can complement existing back-end systems as well.

2-Your website and focus seems to be on ALS and neurodegenerative diseases. Is this app strictly for those conditions?

Good question! I started SimpliHere after I witnessed my mother (a person with ALS) lose her ability to communicate. Since then we have learned that there are other use cases for the app within home healthcare and assisted living facilities that we want to be sure to include.

3-What does the $40,000 you are raising cover?

This covers the cost of the work of two U.S.-based developers who will be building a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that families and caregiving organizations can test before we finalize all features.

4-Will the MVP be available for anyone to test out?

Yes, we will make the MVP available to any patients, caregivers, or caregiving professional organizations who would like to sign up for the beta program.

5-Will the final version be HIPAA-compliant?

Yes, we will ensure that the full version of the app meets the necessary HIPAA safeguards to protect data and privacy.

6-Will the next version be available for Android?

Yes, we will make the app available for both Android and iPhone devices.

7-Does this app already exist today?

Our first version launched in early 2019 is still available on the App Store (iTunes). and can be downloaded here.

8-What is your back-up plan if you don’t raise enough money from this campaign?

I will continue to reach out to caregiving organizations and caregiving professionals for product feedback on our prototype and look for other grant and funding opportunities within this sector.
