Product Development:
When will my leotard arrive?
We are still solidifying details around the construction and manufacturing of the leotards. While we can't give an exact date now, we appreciate your patience as we iron out the details. Like most businesses, we are experiencing delays due to COVID-19—thank you for your support as we navigate this unprecedented situation. As one of our founding donors, you will receive your leotards as soon as we receive them from our manufacturer. We'll make sure to keep you in the loop as we get closer to our launch date in late spring.
What sizes do your leotards come in and how will I know my size?
Due to Sharing the Barre shaking up the way we design dancewear, we will need to conduct a series of fit tests once we receive our final samples in all of our sizes, XXS-XXL. While we can’t give you an exact size chart at this moment, we appreciate your patience as we iron out the details. Once we solidify our size chart, we will email you a series of videos to help you find the right size. Additionally, because we want you to be truly happy with the fit, you will be able to exchange your leotard if you were sized incorrectly. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this campaign, there will be no returns only exchanges.
What colors do your leotards come in?
All of our leotards come in black, blue, and pink. We will contact you after your purchase to inquire which color you would like, shipping information, and sizing information.
Do your leotards come in children’s sizing?
At this time our children’s sizes are under development. With your support we will be able to edit our leotard patterns for children, conduct a series of fitting, and receive children’s samples. Our goal is to complete all of these steps by the summer to early fall. If you purchase a reward, please leave in the comments section that you are interested in children’s wear and we will make sure you receive updates and are on top of our list when we launch children’s sizes.
Why are your original value prices for leotards so high?
Sharing the Barre’s goal is to design dancewear that fits each and every body type. We hope to empower our dancers, and we pride ourselves on the quality of our product and its ability to withstand the wear and tear of dancing. While we have tried very hard to keep our prices down, manufacturing and sourcing of our materials in the United States requires adherence to stricter labor laws and environmental standards (which we are proud of).
The original value price of the garment is a reflection of a small run (200 units/style) production expenses, with prices reflecting a higher cost to Sharing the Barre. Our goal is to reduce our expenses with larger production runs in the future, and as a result price savings to our consumer, while still adhering to our high quality and environmental and ethical standards. You are not receiving a cheap product at a high price; rather, you are receiving a high-quality leotard at a price that still allows Sharing the Barre to cover all expenses that come with running a startup.
Crowdfunding:
Do I have to pick a reward or can I just invest my own amount?
You can invest however much you'd like! You can pick the "Monetary Contribution" selection and input your own amount. If you'd like one of the rewards, just pick the reward category you'd like.
Can I purchase more than one reward?
Yes! When you click on a reward, it allows you to specify a "Support Amount." Enter the total of all of the rewards you would like there and leave a note in the "Message to the entrepreneur" listing the rewards you would like to purchase.
What if I purchased a leotard, but want to gift it to a dancer myself?
We will contact you once you've made your investment to get shipping, size, and color information. If you purchased a leotard and would like to gift it to a dancer in your life, you can give us their email address when we contact you regarding your reward.
