If you've ever gone to a sporting event or concert venue you've probably brought the wrong size bag or been with someone who has. Walking back to the car isn't a good experience for anyone in that moment. As mobility increases around the world, there's a lack of short-term micro-storage for daily use. Secure the Bags uses a proprietary smart locker system that offers a secure, convenient, and flexible solution for storing your things while on the go.

Cutting Edge Security: At Secure the Bags, we understand that security is paramount. Our lockers have state-of-the-art security features ensuring that customer valuables are safe at all times.

Tech-Enabled Convenience: Our user-friendly platform allows customers to reserve, access, and pay for locker storage with just a few clicks on their smartphone. With our intuitive app, users can find the nearest locker location, check availability, and even extend their rental period on the go.

Flexible Solutions: We offer a variety of locker sizes to accommodate a wide range of storage needs, from small personal items to larger luggage or package.

Our Story

This idea has evolved over the years. In 2017 our founder started working in the short-term rental industry. By 2019, she was managing over 400+ rentals across 20 US markets. With her firsthand experience with the lack of storage options for guests, she set out to solve this problem. She enrolled in a product management class, built a website, passed out flyers in Austin, TX, and sat in a storage unit storing bags. Who knew that people would trust a girl from the internet to hold their most prized possessions? That's how bad people didn't want to hold their stuff. When the pandemic hit, it allowed us to go back to the drawing board and build the newest, tech-enabled version of Secure the Bags.

Funding

We're seeking $50K for customer acquisition and to build our mobile application. This is the first step to generating revenue. The funds will allow us to build, test, and launch by August 2024.

Our Founder

Ashley Yearby has always been a leader. As a college soccer player, she led her team as team captain. Her leadership on the field has translated to being a leader in business.

She successfully ran the first ever walking food tour company, Foodie Foot Tours, in the state of Oklahoma for several years before closing it during the pandemic. That led to the launch of her CPG brand, The Adventurous Bartender, a dice game for entertaining guests at home. These businesses have brought accolades from companies like Intuit and Target.

Her love for hospitality and experiences has lead her to where she is today with Secure the Bags. This started as a travel tech company and was birthed from experiencing a lack of solutions as a host as well as a traveler. Now, with a bigger vision, this is the physical manifestation of her version of hospitality.

She’s happily married and has a toddler that keeps her and her husband on their toes.

She currently resides in Houston, TX.

Why are we raising funds?

We are raising funds to help in securing our development team and customer acquisition. We'll also be applying funds to help sustain and grow our team. The sustainability of our Secure the Bags team is integral to preparing us for our next phase and helping scale our operations.

Is this all the funding you need?

No, this is the official kickoff of our total raise! We chose to start with a friend and family crowdfund because we know we're nothing without our community and we hope you'll be as excited as we are for what is to come!

We’re also currently seeking investors and brand partners for our equity investment round who align with our values and who are excited to serve Black women in tech in a tangible way.
