Sarah's Way

Hi, my name is Sarah.
      Sarah's Way exists to save the lives of animals so often the most innocent of victims of domestic violence and to promote rest and healing so that they may one day be reunited with their owner.
       There is a huge correlation between domestic violence and animal abuse.  In one survey 71% of domestic violence victims report that their abuser also targets their pets.  Nearly half of domestic violence victims in shelters leave their pets with their abusers.  And 25% of survivors will return because the abuser is using their pet as a means to get the person back.
       Sarah's Way would like to help put a stop to this terrible, tragic problem.  An organization called Red Rover, which is dedicated to aiding people and pets in crisis, started Safe Place for Pets, which has a national database of shelters and community programs that help animal victims of domestic violence.  Sarah's Way is ready to do anything necessary to be a part of that solution and to be placed on the national database.
       The goal at Sarah's Way is to reunite the pet and their owner.  If that is not a possibility, adoption to a meticulously hand-picked forever home would be an agreed result.
       Sarah's Way is comprised of two structures attached to my residential home.   I aim to follow the Humane Society's checklist of animal-shelter's "must haves" to the letter in order to be well within legal guidelines.  My husband Don, and I live onsite and will be able to take excellent care of the cats and give them the attention and love they so desperately need.                                                                               I am uniquely qualified to run this business because in my lifetime I have adopted over 50 cats from the Humane Society in order to rehabilitate them, at which point I gave them away to a loving home.  I have also raised over 100 baby ducks and currently have 4 cats, three of which are kittens) and I used to work at an animal hospital.  I am also qualified because I too was a victim of domestic violence and know first hand the need to solve this problem. 
       I am seeking funding to make this whole process become a reality.  
      Myself and my husband are completely devoted to this cause and are ready to begin saving as many cats as we can - and as soon as we can.  With your help we can achieve this goal and turn the two structures into a safe place for these cats that are in desperate need of help.                                              So please join us and help save the lives of the most innocent victims of domestic violence - because they depend on people to save them.  Will you help save them?
