Safe Space for Black Stories, Healing, and Legacy

Hi, I’m Jessica Devona. I’m a storyteller, mother, visionary, and the founder of Books For Us Publishing™—a Black-owned imprint dedicated to creating safe spaces for Black voices, healing stories, and spiritually-centered books.

For years, I dreamed of creating something bigger than myself. Something that felt like a hug, a prayer, and a deep breath for women like me—Black women who carry so much and are told to be strong all the time.

That dream became Dear God, I’m Healing, my first book: a 4-week soft girl prayer journal designed to help Black women reconnect with God, rest in His presence, and finally lay their burdens down. It’s the start of a full series dedicated to healing through faith, femininity, and softness.

But I didn’t stop there. I want to publish books that reflect our lives, our stories, and our healing—through devotionals, journals, YA fiction, children’s books, and more. From Bible-based reflection to Black romance and even manga, this imprint is for US.

That’s why I’m raising funds to officially launch Books For Us Publishing™ as a full publishing house for Black authors—and to self-publish the first book that started it all.
