Why the Rowan Tree Community is Needed:
We believe that a happy life is one that is productive, filled with supportive relationships, and balanced. In the world of DC and Northern Virginia – or any fast-paced environment for that matter – finding balance can be tough. Add in kids, pets, caring for aging parents, maintaining relationships, and dealing with day-to-day nitty gritty stuff, finding that balance can be near impossible.
While we believe that working hard is key to success – we also believe that working shouldn’t drain your passion, your health, your strength, or your creativity.
We are creating a space focused on women who need a place to work and meet with clients – but also want to feel inspired, energized, and connected. We want to link smart, funny, creative (and remember – creative doesn’t always mean artsy!), supportive, growth-oriented, and heart-centered women to each other. We want to foster relationships between budding and seasoned professionals – showing our young women what a balanced and driven life can look like. We also believe that women should plant their roots in a community where they can flourish, feel safe, and grow personally and professionally like they never imagined.
We also know what happens when you bring a passionate and driven group of women together: WE DO AMAZING THINGS.
Imagine working in a warm and inviting space full of color. Where you can work in an open space and share ideas or work quietly and take a private phone call. Where you can take a break to do some yoga or borrow some paint and create something (paint by numbers totally counts!). Where you can join us for an engaging event or signature cocktail and meet with some of the most interesting, happy, well-adjusted, and successful women in the community while learning tips for balanced success. All of this while working with an organization rooted in creativity, health, and making our community a better place.
As does water and sunshine for plants, working at the Rowan Tree can help nourish, energize, and grow your career – and maybe transform your soul a bit, too.

Our Story
It just so happens that we share the same birthday (same day and year). When celebrating our birthday last year, a seed was planted as we talked about how much strength women get from one another. We talked about how amazing women are when they join together for a common goal, and we talked about how disconnected women often feel because they are all just trying to dig their own path to keep moving forward.
This conversation stuck with both of us. This little idea about bringing women together kept pushing its way into our minds like a small seedling determined to poke through the soil. Several months later while on a lunch break walk together, our idea sprouted. We decided to create a space for women that was equally focused on connection, productivity, and balance while also being infused with creativity, wellness, and light. It was here that the Rowan Tree coworking and cogrowth idea rooted…and began to grow.

What is the Rowan Tree
The Rowan Tree is known as the “portal tree,” the threshold between here and the place you wish to go. Representing vision, balance, connection, and power, the Rowan Tree brings to life the meaning of transformation. The tree is incredibly diverse in its growth, often growing inside other trees, in craggy riverbeds, and in other seemingly impossible locations. Sometimes our finest and highest calling is discovered when and where we least expect. The tree also represents the month of our birthday.
