At Heartwood Care Collective, our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide affordable, supportive nanny and doula services that empower families and strengthen communities. As a mother and community-driven entrepreneur, I understand the challenges of balancing work, family, and personal well-being. That's why I’m dedicated to making dependable, high-quality care accessible to families, particularly those in underserved communities.
The problem we’re addressing is the growing need for affordable childcare and doula services. Many families struggle to find reliable, high-quality care that fits their budget. This often results in increased stress and burnout, leaving parents feeling overwhelmed and unsupported. We aim to ease this burden by offering affordable, compassionate care that allows families to thrive, without the financial strain.
The opportunity before us is vast. As more families seek personalized care — especially in the wake of changing work dynamics and increased family responsibilities — the demand for childcare and doula services continues to grow. Families need access to care that’s both high-quality and affordable, and we’re here to fill that gap. Our model is designed to ensure that families in all income brackets can access the care they need, especially those who would otherwise go without.
Heartwood Care Collective is different because we offer both nanny and doula services under one umbrella, making it easier for families to find the support they need. Through a combination of sliding-scale pricing, client fees, and grant support, we’re able to provide affordable care that reaches those who need it most. We believe that no family should have to choose between quality care and affordability — and our approach makes that possible.

2. What makes Heartwood Care Collective different from other nanny or doula agencies?
Unlike many agencies that focus solely on high-income clients, we are committed to serving families across all income levels. We do this by offering both nanny and doula services under one umbrella and ensuring that cost is not a barrier to receiving quality care.
3. How will my contribution be used?
Your support will help fund essential startup costs, including business registration, caregiver training, website development, and outreach efforts to connect with families in need. Every dollar goes directly toward making high-quality childcare and doula support more accessible.
4. Why are you crowdfunding instead of seeking traditional funding?
Crowdfunding allows us to launch with the support of our community while staying true to our mission. Traditional funding sources can be difficult to secure for a public-benefit business model like ours, and we want to ensure that our focus remains on serving families rather than maximizing profits.
5. Do you have a team yet?
Not yet! While I, as the founder, am laying the groundwork for Heartwood Care Collective, we plan to build a team of passionate, skilled nannies and doulas who share our mission. Your support will help us recruit and train dedicated caregivers.
6. Will you offer free or discounted care?
Yes! Part of our mission is to provide free or highly discounted childcare to individuals affected by domestic violence and families in need. Our funding model will allow us to subsidize care through grants, donations, and full-pay clients.
7. Where will you be offering services?
Initially, we will serve families in Western Pennsylvania, including Beaver, Butler, Mercer, Lawrence, and Venango counties. We also have plans to expand into Ohio and other underserved regions in the future.
8. How can I support Heartwood Care Collective beyond donating?

9. When will Heartwood Care Collective officially launch?
We’re working hard to get everything in place, and with your support, we aim to launch by July 2026. The sooner we reach our funding goal, the sooner we can start providing care to families in need!
