Our Mission
At MacLaren-Cochrane Publishing, we believe every reader deserves to feel seen, supported, and inspired by the books they read. Our mission is to create dyslexic-inclusive books that make reading accessible and joyful for everyone—especially children and individuals with learning differences. We’re building a more inclusive world, one beautifully designed book at a time.
The Problem We’re Solving
Reading can be a source of frustration for millions of people with dyslexia. Standard fonts and formatting in most books are not designed with their needs in mind. The result? Too many readers—especially kids—struggle to engage with books, miss out on foundational literacy skills, and begin to doubt their own potential.

Our Solution

We are reimagining timeless stories like Peter Pan, The Secret Garden, and Anne of Green Gables with dyslexia-friendly formatting. These classic tales become accessible to all readers, without sacrificing their magic.
- Publishing Original Children’s Books from Private Author-Illustrators
We proudly partner with independent authors and illustrators to publish inclusive, diverse, and meaningful children’s books. These fresh voices and original stories reflect the real world kids live in—building empathy, imagination, and confidence.
- Creating an Educational Program for Early Readers
We’re developing a comprehensive literacy program for early learners and educational environments. It will include interactive, multi-sensory resources designed to support all reading levels—perfect for classrooms, homeschools, and families.

Our launch includes a dyslexic-friendly edition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and an original Oz-themed coloring book. More adapted public domain classics and original children’s books from private author-illustrators are in the works.
4. Will these books be available to schools and libraries?
