Project Description

Our mission is to provide quality hair care products, accessories and styling equipment to a community close to home.
By opening this first Black owned Beauty supply bar in our community in Memphis, TN we can eliminate the need to drive an additional 7-11 minutes to get basic hair care products or styling equipment or having customers overpay for items from larger chain stores.
There is not a beauty supply store within a 7 mile radius, forcing the average consumer to stop at large commercial chain stores that has limited products that are severely overpriced or bypass their home to get their favorite products. Which can be quite exhausting for the tired mom who just got off work and need shampoo for wash day or just remembered picture day is tomorrow and need to run in to pick up hair bows for her daughter.
R & R Beauty Bar will be your favorite neighborhood beauty supply store, providing all of your quality hair care products, accessories and styling equipment from brands you know and trust. Providing easy access to run in and out for a quick stop instead of standing in long lines at other stores.
We are seeking funding for this project as we have been unsuccessful in securing funds from traditional banks or grants. Since we were not impacted by the pandemic there isn't much help for new small businesses. In fact this business was created during the pandemic! Using our personal finances to start and fund our online business we will need help with expanding. Seeing that most were forced to be home, we still have to maintain personal care and need access to those products quickly, R & R Beauty Bar will fulfill that need. This Beauty Supply Bar will be established in the middle of a multicultural community of over 90,000 residents within a 5 mile radius where all can shop.
We will use funds to secure the desired space for the beauty supply store, purchase any needed permits, we will also use funds to conduct light renovations to prepare the space for operation, purchase equipment, shelving, display cases, signage, inventory and marketing materials.

Char Logan is the owner of R & R Beauty Bar LLC and will also be the operator of the store until revenue picks up and I bring another staff member on board. I have the trusted support of my family and friends who will volunteer time and efforts.
