Project Description

Hello All!

My name is Tatiana, and I am originally from New Jersey.

I have always had a passion for law and justice for the well deserved since high school.

During my undergrad years at Temple University, I knew in my heart that I would attend law school no matter how long that process took. Currently, I am working as senior paralegal. I began my journey working in the field of law as a executive legal administrator. I later moved on to become a legal assistant and paralegal.

During COVID, as many other people I ended up working from home temporarily and it ended up being a complete transition. During that time I found myself exploring the idea of entrepreneurship. I started a online cosmetic store and later an online Organization and platform to support women within the criminal justice system. This includes current, past incarcerations, and women working within the justice system and corporate America. Initially, when starting this organization, it was merely focused on women who were either killed by an entity in the system or is currently incarcerated.

The Business

This organization that is aimed to support, uplift, and promotes women of color within the Criminal Justice System. Unfortunately, women of color in the field of law is slim to none.  We recognize these women working toward change and fighting for the justice of others. This organization will focus on promoting women of color who have been forgotten about in the Criminal Justice System. We bring awareness to their stories regarding wrongful convictions, which attracts people to either write them or speak/write a letter for clemency on their behalf. By doing this, we are giving these women a possible chance at freedom.

Income

The company can produce money by possibly selling merch for law students, clerks etc.  10% to 20% of each orders proceeds. This includes hoodies, sweatpants, mugs, planners and so on.

The Market

The business will be promoted strongly using Instagram and Facebooks audience platform.

Progress

I have created and attracted a decent amount of audience and viewers on Instagram and Facebook by posting new and current issues in the system and stories regarding incarcerated women who have been wrongfully arrested.

Objective

The goal is to sell merch and products that are helpful to law students, paralegals etc. 10-20% of each purchase will go to funding for women in the system who have been wrongfully convicted. This funding will help them return back into society including resources to help them find a job, clothing for interviews, funding for an apt, a vehicle and other basic needs.

Once I reach a certain point on this platform, I want to be able to have enough funding or collaborate with a higher audience based organization to help 2 girls of color a year looking to attend law school and need funding. This is important to me because during my journey, funding is what slowed down my law school process

My goal is to change the lives of women transitioning from prison back into society. As well as change some of the lives of women pursuing a career in the field of law.

I am currently working independently. Thank you for listening to my ideas! Hopefully some of you have a vision similar as mine!
