A Place for HER: Shop CNK

What does service, building community, and opportunity look like for you? For us, it all starts from the sole.

Over the last seven years, CNK (which is short for "Chicks N Kicks"), has grown from a small blog to a media company that has become a beacon for women across all facets of the sneaker and streetwear industry.  In this short time, CNKDaily.com has become a trusted voice with both consumers and brands to provide much-needed representation for Her.  Our years of experience have also shown us a glaring gap for women in both shopping experiences and retail ownership in the boutique sneaker space.

Since 2015, we've seen the US sneaker market boast $22.3 Billion in annual sales in 2022 with women accounting for 36.9% of the consumer market share yet, she remains underserved in community retail spaces.

Let us be clear: there are only four woman-owned DTC sneaker boutiques in the United States and none of them cater exclusively to the female consumer.  We hope to change that.

Now, we're addressing that gap by expanding our presence from online to in real life with Shop CNK - the first Black-woman-owned and Woman-focused experiential retail concept in the United States.  

For far too long, women-identifying consumers have been missing a retail space to call their own.  Shop CNK will be a physical space designed to bring everything we've built online under one roof with our flagship store in Dallas, Texas.

#WelcometotheSneakHERhood isn't just a tagline. It is a call to action, a recognition of what's missing, and an open invitation to help us change the game at a high level.  

What's our Superpower?  Community building, establishing customer loyalty through service, and curating space that merges hospitality, tech, and product equity.  

For us, Shop CNK is a safe and priority space for HER, a welcome space for him, and a community space for all rooted in these key elements:

• Experience

Unlike existing boutique partners in the US, Shop CNK's primary focus is crafting a shopping experience for all facets of HER.  Our goal is to build out a retail safe space that ensures she receives priority access to product, engages in community and brand-backed IRL activations, and shops with ease thanks to tech-infused (and body-positive) displays.

• Inclusivity 

While traditional spaces have elevated an air of exclusion, Shop CNK is very much a "you CAN sit with us" space.  And while women-identifying consumers will receive priority access, we don't believe that men are the enemy.  Quite the opposite.  Our community doors are open to all who want to engage and amplify in our spaces.

• Service

The foundation of both our existing media company and Shop CNK is rooted in service and building impact through the community.  We plan to continue that within our Shop CNK Flagship in the following ways:

• Community work areas + wifi.

• Monthly events.
• Dedicated space for local vendors.
• Texas-based, woman-owned, and POC-led small brands in stock.
• Direct work with community leaders + non-profits.

Our community of creators, collaborators, and consumers have followed and supported us because we, through our online platform, we've offered a level of service and personalization that has cultivated a level of loyalty.  We hope to translate that unwavering support into an experience that is unavailable in Dallas' current landscape of retail boutiques and big-box stores. With this expanded multi-touchpoint model for Shop CNK, each stream of business flows organically from our media company directly to our brick-and-mortar. 

Our founders Channing Beumer and Cassidy Edwards bring over 35 years of combined experience in marketing, digital strategy, HR, DEI, operations, compliance, and employee development.  Plus, we're two women who have been collecting kicks since free lunch.  We know the market because we are the market and we're ready to create the space for generations to come.

We need your help to create opportunities through our new concept. We are raising this first round of "virtual friends and family funding" to help fund our build-out and add to our team because people are key to making dreams a reality!

We’re also currently seeking brand partners who are just as excited about this opportunity as we are.  Shop CNK's Dallas flagship will be unlike anything else in the country, and we’re eager to bring brands along for this incredible journey.
