Next Generation Media Internship (NxGen Media)

The Justice Beat Talk Show 

The Justice Beat Talk Show is a 1-hour weekly program airing on Saturday’s via Facebook Live and other social media platforms.  The primary focus of the Show is to empower, equip, educate, and inform family members and friends of incarcerated loved ones on how to boldly and confidently advocate on behalf of individuals in jails and prisons as well as formerly incarcerated individuals. Take a look at our recently produced Season 3 Episodes available via the Show’s YouTube Channel for On Demand Replay.

 Next Generation Media Internship Program (NxGen Media) supports The Justice Beat Talk Show by specializing in the offering of remote undergraduate/post graduate students in the digital broadcast media space.  Our mission is the reframing of employability skills through education and training.  Students placed in the NxGen Media Program include undergraduates, masters, and doctorate level students with an interest in social justice and specifically justice reform matters.  NxGen Media is dedicated to offering project-based experiential learning opportunities to supplement the academic learning environment by providing interns ways to apply knowledge learning in the classroom to a real-world project.

Once placed in the NxGen Media Internship Program student interns are assigned to provide project support to the program’s Justice Beat Talk Show.  The primary focus of Next Generation Media Internship Program is to provide undergraduate, masters, and doctorate-level students with exposure and immersion into justice reform issues through their participation in coordinating the production of each episode by taking the lead on developing, shaping, and laying the foundation for the production of the Show.

With 3 production seasons under our belt, currently in pre-production planning  for season 4 and 5, the goal of The Show, is to provide monthly stipends to production team members, to grow and expand the Show's digital footprint, to provide 1:1 e-Consults, to host Q&A e-Forums and to onboard freelance contractors to assist with the continuity and sustainability of the Show during season and off season.
