• What is the mission of your company or project?

Our mission statement is to uplift independent nail techs and each community on their terms with nail services anytime and anywhere.

• Describe the problem you are solving.

There's over 4,000 establishments that hire nail technicians and more than 1,000 of them graduate every 3 to 9 months with no guarantee of job placement. They are also struggling with socially marketing themselves, gaining and looking for clientele to make ends meet or to turn their hobby into a career. On the other hand, people are not aware of all of the nail techs in the industry in their area. Some just don't have a lot of nail service options in their area, not satisfied with their service or the wait at their local nail salon.

• What is the market size/opportunity?

Based on our research, TAM the nail service industry makes 1.7 billion dollars a year. The SOM in the NYC area is 700 million dollars, and we are expecting to win 1.05 million dollars as our SOM.

• What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem? 

Nailerz is a new digital platform that connects nail technicians and small businesses to people within their local area of all ranges from new exotic nail art trends to basic nail maintenance services.Nailerz will be a new place for nail techs and small businesses to highlight their skill sets, display their work and gain clientele in order to make a career & a name for themselves. The platform will have a categorize system in place in order for them to keep track of their clients' list when conducting business on the app. Also an administration system set up so they can provide their booking and policy system for their nail services. People can get access to a wide range of nail services in their area. People can connect with local nail techs and small businesses before you can set up the service with just a click of a button, all in one platform.

• Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding?

My team and I have come a long way and we need your support to get us to our app launch date in the winter. We are seeking funding to support our product, marketing, operations and finance to reach our OKRs goals for this year.  

We need to spend the funding to incorporate the business entity, protect the IP, host domain name,host company’s website, host the app design on figma account, sponsored ad posts on social media platforms, to pay the team, and get support after bootstrapping for the past 6 months. We also have a newsletter and blog that we need support to maintain and to be able to host the content to stay in touch with our potential core users of the app. We also need support with the hosting app and it’s maintenance once released this winter in the app store. 

• Who is on your team?

Nailerz is unique because we will be the first to provide exclusively nail services only from anywhere. Nailerz  is made up of a 8 team passionate and intellectual team members at the moment. Jesse who is our UX/UI designer and Clare is our UX/UI designer Advisor who is both working on designing the Hi-Fi design. Antitria who is our UI designer assisting with Hi-Fi design and creating the website. Corey is who UX designer working on the coding and designing of the app and website. Mohammed who is graphic designer who works on operations and created the logo, Joel who is our app developer, Anthony who is our front end developer, Andrew is a front end developer and (myself) founder, marketing and business lead. I also have been getting my nails done all my life and for many different occasions. I'm familiar with the experience domestically and internationally and also have experience with friends and family sharing dealing with these types of problems and NAILERZ's app features can make it easier. Since February of the start of building this business, we have identify our users groups, and conducted interviews with over 50 potential core users about the issues within the industry and how our platform can solve it. We developed customers personals, did customer discovery, developed personsa user cases, created a market size diagram, business model, and a pitch deck. We also have beauty establishments that offer nail programs/ classes are looking to partner with us and agree to share the app amongst their students. We also have independent nail techs and small businesses who are also looking to join the app once published into the market. Since talking to those individuals in the industry we are sure there's a need that we will be fulfilling in the industry. We have launched our social media accounts towards the end of us participating in the Zahn Center Incubator competition where we won second place in May of this year. We now have a total of 36 organic followers on Instagram.
