As the founders of Casa Mama, Hali brings 15 years of experience in maternal health, serving as a doula, board-certified lactation consultant, and health coach. Meanwhile, Hali has played pivotal roles in various maternal health startups and managed my private practice for years. Over our years in the field, we've consistently heard from mothers who feel isolated, lacking in confidence, and in need of support during the postpartum months.
Sierra, with her background as a registered nurse specializing in postpartum and nursery care, has witnessed firsthand the profound toll that sleep deprivation takes on new parents. It's just the tip of the iceberg; many find themselves teetering on the edge of breakdowns, grappling with the fatigue that comes with caring for a newborn. Witnessing them discharged home in such vulnerable states, with minimal support, is heart-wrenching.
Mothers have expressed their apprehensions about postpartum depression even before it surfaces. Facing this mental health challenge without adequate support can feel overwhelming, especially after their short hospital stays, leaving them to navigate the next six weeks until their next appointment alone.
At Casa Mama, our mission is to enhance the postnatal experience, setting a new standard within our community. We prioritize a non-biased and inclusive environment to support our guests throughout their journey.
The statistics speak volumes: 1 in 7 moms suffer from anxiety and depression, 7 out of 10 lose at least 3 hours of sleep each night, and over 60% of new parents feel they lack support during the postnatal period.
Our market opportunity is significant, with 3.6 million babies born in the US annually and Miami alone seeing over 55,000 births yearly, including around 60 births monthly from international parents seeking superior care.
Casa Mama will be situated within a luxury wellness hotel, dedicated to providing unparalleled support and care for new parents and their babies during the first four months of life.
