OUR MISSION
Maven Space is a femme-powered space where entrepreneurs, remote workers, executives, creatives, dreamers, and doers are provided opportunities to make connections and find the resources they need to get their big ideas off the ground.
We are building a dynamic community where all are welcome who are on board with the mission of advancing women. We're for those who crave connection in real life but want a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing space where we can develop meaningful connections, develop personally and professionally, and enjoy a damn moment to ourselves.
To date, Maven Space has donated more than $12,000 in event venue rentals to local nonprofit organizations.
OUR WHY
When women thrive, entire communities benefit. According to research from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, women’s economic participation and ownership of financial assets are linked to faster economic development, reduced poverty rates, and improvements to children’s nutrition, health, and school attendance.
Yet, the spaces where women can gather in a space that was designed with them in mind, are few and far between. Given Indiana's "report card" for women, we believe this is not only a worthy but an absolutely necessary investment.
OUR ASK
Our goal for raising funds is to provide our team with more room to breathe as we continue to build a strong community and increase awareness about Maven Space and our mission to uplift women and empower bold thinkers to achieve their goals.
Funds secured through our crowdfunding campaign will be used for marketing (including signage!), technology upgrades, staffing, updates to the space, and the resources needed to research and explore possible future iterations of Maven Space, including a second location and childcare options.
With the coworking industry expected to be valued at 24 billion dollars by 2030, an investment like this will allow all of Central Indiana to thrive.
OUR FOUNDER
Maven Space was founded by Indy Maven co-founder and CEO Leslie Bailey, who began her career in journalism. As Indy Maven grew (having launched shortly just before COVID in October 2019), Leslie realized that what women need now more than ever is community. When she asked Indy Maven members what they wanted, the answer was always the same: to connect, support, collaborate, and engage with other women. And so the idea for Maven Space was born.
OUR BIGGEST THANKS
We can't begin to thank our community enough for the support you've shown us in this first year. As a bootstrapped start-up, we can say with 100% certainty that YOU are what allows us to keep our doors open every day. If we've been able to achieve all that we have in the last year with a minuscule budget, just think about what we'll be able to achieve together with an even stronger foundation!
