After over three years of working out of our home studio, it’s time for us to take up space. We are opening a studio + shop! Connecting people and places is the heart of our business and we are excited to create space for our community to come together.
About us:
Lunch City Studio is a collection of art by artist and architect, Courtney Drake. Inspired by the places Courtney explored with her dog, Lunchbox, she founded Lunch City Studio in 2017 in Washington, DC. Courtney creates building portraits, cityscapes, maps, and color palettes. Every piece is designed to connect people with the places they love.
Where we’ll be:
Our studio + shop will be in Union Square in Somerville, Massachusetts. We love Somerville and we’re excited to contribute to this community in a new way. We’ll host workshops led by local creatives and makers and we can’t wait to see you at Somerville Open Studios, Fluff Festivals, and Holiday Strolls.
What you’ll find:
Gifts, home and paper goods! This includes our own prints (and frames!), greeting cards, stickers, and other treats. We will also have sustainable products from women, LGBTQ+, and minority-owned small businesses. Mugs, tea towels, and tea. Planters and plants. Candles, soaps, and balms. Notebooks, pins, and more!

We believe in being conscious consumers and shopping with intention. Prints and cards are traditionally sold in plastic sleeves. We are creating an experience where you can browse our print collection, select a print, have it framed, and take it home without plastic entering the equation. All products sold in our store will be plastic free. We will continue to plant one tree for every sale. So far we’ve planted over 2,000 trees!
Our ask:
We’re personally investing a lot in this studio + shop but we need your help for it to be fully realized. It’s a scary time to open the brick + mortar but we are committed to being a safe and bright spot in our community. We want this to be a place that we all build.

Our timeline:
We are moving in on April 1st with the hopes of opening in May. Once we’re open we will start fulfilling your rewards.
