My name is Sandra Lucia Diaz and I am the founder and lead Illustrator of LUCIA DIAZ, a Latina stationery brand that empowers the community by creating artwork that celebrates Every Latina.
Stationary is a $5.9 billion dollar industry and there is effectivily no represntation for Latinas.
When I go to big box stores, I spend hours looking for the perfect gifts for my loved ones that represent Latinx culture authentically. Store after store. Occassion after ocassion.
But I usually leave often left the store frustrated and empty-handed, frustrated, and feeling unseen.
When a few of my primas graduated a few years, I was heartbroken that I couldn’t find a graduation card with art that looked like them.
Latinas come in every shade, hair type, shape, and color. And there's no representation of us in the stationery industry.
This is why I launched LUCIAS DIAZ's the Latina Graduation Card collection.
My designs are created with the goal of providing cultural representation and pride so that mujeres poderosas can see themselves represented in the world. Over the last months, I have been working with my all-Latina team to produce a website where you can find the perfect unique gifts for your amigas.
I am now raising funds to relaunch the LUCIA DIAZ Website on Shopify to better serve my clients and launch new collections. I will also be giving 10% of proceeds back to organizations that are already doing the work of empowering Latinas, like Step Up Foundation and United We Dream.
Meet Sandra Diaz–Founder, Artist, Proud Colombiana
“Every Latina Deserves To Be Celebrated”
Hola amiga, I’m Sandra Diaz, founder of Lucia Diaz. As a first-generation Colombian-American, I want nothing more than for women of color, girls growing up as first-generation Americans, and all women smashing their goals, to feel like they matter. Like their accomplishments matter.
Before launching Lucia Diaz. (previously Fearless Yaya) I would go to big box stores and spend hours looking for the perfect gifts for my loved ones that represents our Latinx culture authentically. I often left the store frustrated and empty-handed. But when a few of my first-generation college student primas graduated, I was heartbroken that I couldn’t truly celebrate with cards that looked like them (Latinas come in every shade, hair type, shape, and color). This special moment came and went without the chance to give them a personalized gift like I wanted.
That was the moment I knew I had to do something about it. And that year, I launched the Graduation Card collection. With this collection, anyone could completely personalize each card, from the hair color to the hair texture so they would have something special to share with their friends and family.
My desire is to share in the excitement beaming from your loved one’s face when they open their gift or card! Whether it’s a beautiful, one-of-a-kind art print, a card that celebrates their amazing accomplishments, or home decor that makes their space feel even more warm and cozy– we deliver high-quality, thoughtful, and personalized Latinx-inspired gifts hecho con tanto amor. Thanks for being a part of this dream, hermana!
Con Amor, Sandra Diaz
Let's unapologetically I celebrate graduations, milestones, and holidays with high-quality art prints, one-of-a-kind greeting cards, and stationery. Latinas deserve to take up space in industries where they’re often misrepresented or left out altogether.
Thank you for supporting my campaign and please share the link with your amigas and allies. Mil Gracias!
