About us:
The Leafy Branch is a black woman owned plant and gift shop for new and experienced plant enthusiasts and customers looking to add some major plants vibes to their space. We provide customers with a unique shopping experience with equally unique plants, handmade accessories, branded apparel and very plant themed home décor.  

Where we are:
In addition to our online store https://theleafybranch.com/ , you can find us in person at the Historic Eastern Market in Washington, DC as well a variety of markets, pop-ups and festivals all over the DC/MD/VA area. Vending at markets and pop-ups allows us the opportunity to be present in the community and to significantly grow our customer base. Our customers leave our space feeling excited about their purchases and often return. We are also able to capitalize on tourists visiting DC. To meet the needs of that group, we have many items made specifically that travel well. We also pop-up all over the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia areas very often expanding our footprint and customer base. 

Where we’re headed:
Our goal is to open our first brick & mortar store in Washington, DC Summer 2024! We are gearing up to wow our customers new and returning! Our retail store would serve as a space for the community offering a variety of classes, rental event space and provide an opportunity for other small minority businesses to gain exposure through pop-up events.  we have a strong desire to help other new businesses grow and succeed much in the way we have been helped. 

We also plan to start a non-profit in honor of the owner, Chanel's late grandmother who was a retired school teacher which will allow us to get free books, art projects and small plants in the hands of children. We also plan to partner with local schools and daycare facilities offering free or low-cost classes for children to expose them to the world of plants, the proven wellness benefits afforded by plants and opportunities for sensory exploration from just playing in soil and starting their own plant collections.

Our Goal: 

Our goal is to be fully funded and ready to open to the public by Summer 2024. Our goal is to raise the funds to cover store build out, tech, security, inventory and store furnishings. 

What’s the money for:
All contributions to this campaign will be used towards: space build-out, Insurance/ permits, inventory for the store, security, necessary tech, as well as marketing and promotion.
