About us:
The Leafy Branch is your one-stop shop for new and experienced plant enthusiasts. We provide customers with a unique shopping experience with equally unique plants, accessories, apparel and home décor. Many of our offerings are hand-made. We are a minority woman-owned business intent on carving out our niche.
Where we are:
In addition to our online store https://theleafybranch.com/ , you can find us in person at the Historic Eastern Market in Washington, DC. Vending at the market is amazing and allows us the opportunity to be present in the community and to significantly grow our customer base. Our customers leave our space feeling excited about their purchases and often return. We are also able to capitalize on tourists visiting DC. To meet the needs of that group, we have many items made specifically that travel well.
Where we’re headed:
Our goal is to open a brick & mortar store within the Washington, DC metro region. In addition to the retail store, we would also be a space for the community offering a variety of classes, rental event space and provide an opportunity for other small minority businesses to gain exposure through pop-up events. Even as a relatively new business, we have a strong desire to help other new businesses much in the way we have been helped.
We also plan to partner with local schools and daycare facilities offering free or low-cost classes for children to expose them to the world of plants, the proven wellness benefits afforded by plants and opportunities for sensory exploration from just playing in the dirt and starting their own plant collections.
Our Goal:
Our goal is to be fully funded and ready to open to the public by November 2023.
What’s the money for:
All donations will be used to secure a commercial lease, space build-out
if needed, and inventory for the store. Additionally, funds will be used
for marketing and promotional campaigns.
