Project Description

As a small child I always envisioned myself owning my own business. I did not know what type of business I would own one day, but I knew that I wanted to become an entrepreneur. While in high school I took an entrepreneurial class in order to learn more about business ownership. One day during one of my entrepreneurship classes in high school, I finally figured-out the type of business that I wanted to start. I decided that I wanted to open-up my own clothing and art boutique. It was also during that time that I created the name and slogan of my future business, which would be called “Le Departique”, and the slogan would be “like a department store with a boutique atmosphere”.
There are several reasons my business will benefit more than just myself. I want my journey to show aspiring entrepreneurs that obstacles and challenges on the road to business ownership can be overcome. I’m inspired by the “Forbes Best Places to Work List”. I want my business to be a place where employees are paid fairly and have a stress-free “work life balance”. Most importantly, my business will serve the community through culture and the arts. I want to bring awareness and recognition to artists that sometimes go unnoticed by highlighting him/her in my boutique.
It has been a heart wrenching road to my childhood dream. The “ups and downs” of financial backing have indeed been a challenge. With your funding you can help turn those dreams into reality. The “little girl” in me still has big dreams and the “adult me” is determined to make those dreams come true. With your help you are not only saying “yes” to me, you are saying yes to dreams and determination.
I really need to raise $50,000.00, but I am setting my goal at $15,000.00. With $15,000.000 I can get the floor installed, purchase the merchandise display/shelving, complete the interior carpentry, have my truck auto-wrapped, and purchase inventory.

The Campaign FAQs
One potential challenge of my mobile business would be that I would not be able to drive my truck in severe inclimate weather. The solution to this possible challenge would be for me to set-up an indoor table or a booth, featuring my merchandise, at potential events, if the weather does not allow me to safely drive my truck. The DC Metropolitan area does not usually receive severe inclimate weather, therefore I do not foresee the weather as being a major challenge.
