Project Description
From Homeschooling Community to Empowering Movement
Latinos Homeschooling is creating a dedicated space where students can thrive outside the traditional classroom—learning their history, embracing their heritage, and developing their language with passionate educators who understand their journey. This kind of learning environment didn’t exist for K-12 students before, but we’ve made it a reality. Now, we’re ready to expand this much-needed program for our families. The Campaign FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why is this space needed for homeschoolers and why a Latino Studies Program?
The space for homeschoolers is needed to provide a supportive, tailored environment where families can educate their children according to their unique needs, values, and learning styles. For many homeschoolers, traditional school settings don’t align with their educational goals or personal circumstances, making homeschooling a powerful choice. The flexibility allows for a deeper connection between families and the educational content, fostering a love of learning that is not confined to a classroom’s structure or pace.
As for a Latino Studies Program, it is essential because it offers a chance to celebrate and explore the rich cultural heritage, history, and contributions of the Latino community. Such a program fosters pride, a sense of identity, and belonging, and gives students the tools to understand and navigate their cultural landscape in broader societal contexts. A Latino Studies Program ensures that the next generation of Latino children can connect with their roots, learn about influential figures and movements, and gain a broader perspective on how Latino history has shaped society, especially in the United States. This is particularly important for homeschooling families who might not have access to this level of education in traditional settings.
Is your program open to anyone regardless or race?
Yes, everyone is welcome to be a part of our community! We welcome everyone who is interested in learning more about the Latino culture and who would like to connect with other families!
What credentials do your instructors have?
We have been interviewing teachers who hold advanced degrees and have a passion to teach.
