What are we doing? We’re bringing dresses back!
We’ve expanded the idea of the trusty lbd (little black dress) with an array of versatile dresses that are timeless, and designed to go through life with you without sacrificing style or the planet.
Why are we doing it? Getting dressed is important but can be confusing.
As women we try to fit into the roles of each stage of our lives through style. We change our style when we join the workforce, when we get married, when have children. Sometimes we don’t know what we are supposed to look like!
And sometimes it can create a lot of waste when we end up tossing our clothes because of low quality or for simply being outdated.
Why does this matter?
Did you know that tons of clothes are piling up in landfills as we speak?
Fast-fashion is creating trends faster that we can wear them and taking us on a wild ride of buying lots of poorly made clothes that will be out of style next season.
As a designer in the industry for over 10 years, I can attest to the waste created by fashion that is disposable and manufacturing systems that are wasteful.

I originally started by making each piece myself, by hand, in order to ensure the best quality and service.
I started with what little I had, just a few home sewing machines and an idea and I could only make a few dresses per week on my own. But, the dream in my heart is bigger than that.

Meet the Founder
Here's a little bit about me
I am a proud mommy of 3 beautiful boys and I started my collections while I was still pregnant with my littlest. I was tired of not finding anything stylish to wear during my pregnancy for the 3rd time in a row. That's when I decided to create my own. I started with one off-the-shoulder top and I liked it so much, that I designed an entire line of bump-friendly clothing for other women like me: women that wanted to maintain a sense of self through their pregnancies and after.
I wanted clothing to transition into this beautiful stage of motherhood, seamlessly.
I don't think women should have to put their style on pause because there aren't any good clothes to wear.
So, I went on a mission to create a cut that would be flattering on women pregnant or not. I tested it on myself during and after my baby was born for many months until I ended up with a fit that worked. I also wanted the fabric to be exceptional. I went looking for something comfortable with stretch but that was also luxurious. It was not an easy task, but I did it. Of all the possibilities, Ponte was the most beautiful and durable. And that's how the fit and fabric came together to make each design special and long-lasting.
I hope to create many more designs so that women everywhere can look and feel beautiful no matter what stage of life they're in.

Laura Diaz-Alberto is the founder of LaDi. She's a solo entrepreneur and mom of 3 boys, living in NJ.
She started an Etsy shop from home when she couldn't find good clothes to wear during her pregnancies and decided to start her own fashion line.
She creates collections that are versatile, easy to wear, and with just the right amount of flair, for women that are bold, youthful and sexy.
