KinHaven House
Happier Parents Raise Better Humans.
Project Description
MEET KINHAVEN HOUSE
KinHaven House is a social and wellness club designed to be kid-friendly but parent-focused. We believe that parents deserve a space outside of the home that provides relaxation, engagement, support, and meaningful experiences for every member of the family. KinHaven House is the lost village, found. Happier parents raise better humans.
Society does not support parent's mental health. Social activities become so segmented between kid-centric activities, paying for childcare, or simply struggling through a space that doesn't really want children around.
THE MISSION
KinHaven House was created from a need for parents to be full people. We provide a physical and digital space for members to connect, empower, and support one another.
At KinHaven House, we know though every family is unique some parental themes and struggles are universal. Parents deserve deserve care, connection, and celebration. When parents are allowed to relax, engage, and connect, we create the new modern village of community. We believe that parents deserve service, space, and support.
In a study by CNN
62% of parents feel burned out by their responsibilities as a parent.
66% of parents feel the demands of parenthood sometimes or frequently left them feeling isolated and lonely.
40% of parents feel as if they have no one to support them in their parenting role.
"We're so devoid of accessible support networks in contemporary life"

MEET THE MOMS Behind KinHaven House
Kathleen O'Brien Price
After graduating from UC Berkeley Kathleen made the bold choice to attend culinary school. After completing her diploma at Le Cordon Bleu she then launched a 15-year career in hospitality. The foundation of excellence was built working in the many high net worth and profile homes at the beginning of her career, including Will and Jada Smith. She moved to New York to take on a life of culinary entrepreneurship; building her own book of business catering, appearing on Food Network shows, teaching cooking classes, throwing pop-up dinners, and curating events for the likes of big brands including Jordan and Peloton. After giving birth to her daughter, Nola, in 2021 Kathleen noticed a lack of support for new parents generally and began thinking of ways to create a system of support that she so badly wanted.
Crystal Spence
After earning her MBA from Kellogg and diving deep into strategy consulting and investment banking Crystal discovered her passion for launching and growing consumer brands. From guiding media giants through multimillion-dollar deals to helping startups carve out their space she has always thrived on the challenge of turning ideas into impact. These days she's learning how to balance spreadsheets with baby bottles because nothing prepared her for the adventure of becoming a mom to now six-month-old, Tre.
THE JOURNEY
WHERE ARE WE NOW
KinHaven House has an estimated grand opening date of Winter 2025 but we need your help to keep the momentum going. In this phase we are raising funds to continue growing the KinHaven House community through pop-ups to learn more about what parents truly need. In the last year, Kathleen has self-funded contractors, pop-up events, and technology needed to truly understand how to make KinHaven House a reality. Even while continuing to support her lifestyle by running her own chef business, parenting a toddler, and limited resources she has been able to grow the community to over 80 families and collected nearly 100 emails.
Money from this crowdfund will also go towards building a Minimum Viable Product, the next step in creating a scalable hybrid community that will not only provide connection but tools and resources for parents to be their best selves. Our goal is to go beyond the typical kid focused information parents are bombarded with and create a comprehensive space where parents are seen as full people throughout every stage of their children's life.
Real estate projects in New York City are capital-intensive endeavors, but we have faith the need is so strong we will move quickly in gaining the capital needed. Along with this crowdfund we are currently meeting with equity investors. KinHaven House is not just one brick-and-mortar space. It is the next generation of family-friendly space and we are looking to open at least 4 locations in the next 6 years in an industry predicted to grow $50B dollars by 2032. If you are interested in being an equity investor click here to schedule a time to chat.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Money makes the world go 'round and your support no matter how small will keep this revolutionary project moving. If you are a parent or know a parent you know the struggle is real and you can rest easy knowing your coins are the start of solving a huge societal problem. If you can't support monetarily but have other ways to help let's connect.
