​​​​​​Boe Davis' mission is to make high quality, timeless clothes in vibrant colors. 

Most of the clothes made today are no longer made with 100% natural fabrics and are lacking the quality and attention detail garments used to have. 

Problems

1) The quality of all clothing including high-end luxury clothes has deteriorated dramatically

2) The composition of clothing has changed so that now more than 60% of clothing made today is made with synthetic/polyester fibers

3) Most brands don't plan for the end of the life of their garments allowing for 70% of polyester blends to end up in landfills. Polyester and synthetic fibers are not biodegradable. 

Solutions

Boe Davis will address these problems by providing women sustainable, environmentally friendly, high-quality clothing. Our focus is to make clothing out of 100% biodegradable natural fabrics as much as possible. 

We'll address the problems outlined above by: 

1) adding back the details and finishes that clothing deserves

2&3)) Prioritizing using natural fabrics that are biodegradable

The fashion market is large and wants consumers to shop often, our slow fashion business model will require our customers to adjust their spending habits. Slow fashion focuses on locally sourced, produced and sold, with fewer styles per collection and fewer releases per year (source). We do not plan on using sales (making the discount we're offering on our first drop a unique one off), taking the approach Gucci has by making less things and allowing things to sell out, rather than, mass produce and be required to put unsold inventory on sale. 

According to a recent study by IBM in 2021, half of consumers said they were willing to pay a premium for a sustainable brand or sustainable products (source). Consumers are looking for better options and are savvy, they know that brands like Zara, H&M and even Gucci are not sustainable and they're looking for alternatives. 

Why Crowdsource? 

We'd like to see if our message and business model resonates with others. We're seeking funding to complete our production run for our debut duster cardigan as well as to go into pre-production on 3 new styles. Pre-production has typically costed around $3,500 - $5,000 with production costing around $5,500 - $7,000.

Debut Product

Our debut duster is made out of 100% climate beneficial wool. It is domestically raised and locally knitted (made in NYC). We're practicing what we preach and have been invited to participate in two panels this September to discuss our sustainability initiatives.
