Hello, thank you for supporting women who are founders, community leaders, way-makers and visionary creatives. The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds for a manufacturing run of my product, the Style-N-Stash, which is a toiletries and beauty products organizer.
What I Do...
I'm a passionate inventor and product designer who is struggling to compete with my well funded male counterparts in the product licensing space. What is 'product licensing'? I'm glad you asked! It's when an inventor grants a company or individual the rights to manufacturer, market and sell their invention in exchange for a negotiated percentage of every sale.
Even though I am WICKED GOOD at this, funding and partnership opportunities are ever elusive for women of color in this space. I design consumer products and solutions from household furnishings to beauty appliances. Below is one of my industry acclaimed inventions, the Scroll Screen, which is an outdoor privacy screen, and the intro video for this campaign showcases the personal styling vanity I designed, which I discuss a little more in the next section.
Historic Collaboration with Industry Leader...
I've developed three products to make self care and beauty routines more efficient and enjoyable. First, my flat iron, the HotBody Flat Iron, a patent pending flat iron that has one of a kind features was designed to offer better handling, a smooth finish and address fizzy roots. Many women don't know this, but hair appliance design and manufacturing is predominately white males, including appliances and tools marketed to women of color. In October my flat iron was licensed by the InStyler corporation, making me the first black female inventor to license a hair tool to a major corporation. Even though women of color spend about 9 times more on hair care products, there were no companies seeking our input in the design of appliances and technology. I'm hoping to inspired and be inspired by more WOC who will get in on the technology and tool side personal appliance design.

My other products include the StyleStand (shown as my campaign image/video) which is a personal vanity/mirror that holds hair accessories and makeup. Like many of my solutions, the StyleStand is a direct result of a personal frustration. I wanted to braid my hair and need a mirror that I could use to see the back of my head while parting my hair! It's a beautiful patent pending design, with technology and features not currently available on the market. To see the StyleStand, please view the portfolio page on
Not Just Pretty...
Quality, Functionality and Consumer Delight are Strategic Metrics For My Design Solutions.
The Bottom Line...
I'm seeking funding to complete a small manufacturing run of the Style-N-Stash organizer; with a goal to debut the product on a home shopping segment by September.
The product is an organizer that holds your 'beat', which the collection of all the items of your daily beauty routine. It's like a toiletries travel-roll, but designed to keep all your swag in one place so that you can pull it out, get your glam on and then stash it away. It also has a built-in power source to plug in hair tools and a USB port. The Style-N-Stash will initially be heavily marketed to women, however the design will enable me to position it as an organizer for grooming/shaving items as well.
Take this journey with me and you WILL NOT be disappointed. I have a passion for products that deliver functionality, quality - and delight to hard working consumers who enjoy being early adopters. www.concepzhuredesig.com
