Who are we?
Plush & Regal (P&R) Press is an alternative option to the traditional publishing landscape. We offer a haven for genre-bending authors seeking to publish their creative works. Our focus lies in cultivating our vibrant community, one where authors feel supported- involved in every step of the publishing process. Plush & Regal bridges the gap between publishing, easing the headaches and financial barriers by providing comprehensive support, not limited to content editing, cover design, and marketing, all at no additional cost to the author.
Founder
Jessika Raisor (hi!) founded Plush & Regal to solve the frustrations brought-up by her creative friends. It felt like more time was wasted querying agents (who already have a queue a mile long), than writing the actual book. The top 5 publishing houses are only looking for quick-flips: something easily marketable. If your work is accepted, it could take years before reaching the shelf!
Jessika holds multiple degrees: a BFA and MBA. She has been working in various content creation fields since 2018, starting with MinuteEarth on YouTube and currently creating course content for higher education.
What do we publish?
Our focus is on genre-bending novels, or mash-ups that are often quite difficult to pitch. Think, "fantasy/western.” Which section would the major storefronts, like Barnes & Noble, file that? We’re a source for unique stories, dedicated to changing what’s mainstream.
Plush & Regal is open to all eye-opening ideas. If we vibe with the content, then we might just publish it! From genres such as poetry, non-fiction, mysteries, to different mediums including comics, or even an essay on historical cats... the possibilities are endless!
We Provide
P&R doesn’t expect work to be completely polished, neat, or tidy, because that's what we're here for! Whenever we talk and sign authors, we take the next step from being simple managers to partners. We'll collaborate on your major projects, hiring editors to pick-up where you left off. People who understand the narrative, not merely carrying the baton, but uplifting it, emphasizing your voice. P&R also handles the afterthoughts when it comes to book-publishing, like cover design and audio book narrators. We won’t need the money from your pocket, just valuable input, helping us find which illustrations embody the book’s message.
What are you funding?
We’re looking to cover all the behind-the-scenes, start-up costs to get this business running! All of these initial investments cover registering the business, buying industry-standard software, and working alongside a legal team to establish contracts fair for all parties. These items are initial, single-cost services, a great launching point for our indie publishing house!
The Breakdown
- $400 – Covers registering our business in the state of Ohio
- $300 - Working with lawyers to draft contracts for signing and promoting authors
- $432 – An annual website subscription and graphic design
- $360 – A Bookfunnel subscription, allowing us to sell directly to consumers
- $8 - Coffee for Jessika (and to make it an even $1500)

What happens after the campaign ends?
We are using flexible crowdfunding, so we’ll still receive any donations, even if we don't reach our goal by the end date. This means every donation really does count! We’ll be paying for things in order, so that first $400 goes straight towards the LLC registration process. The next $300 is reserved for contract writing, etc.
We’ll be keeping the community updated throughout this process! P&R Press will post educational blog updates for any other folks curious about getting an LLC.
When the campaign finally winds to a close, with the remaining funds we'll begin work on our new website platform. Keep an eye out for backer updates. Don’t forget to check-in to test the site out before we launch!

FAQ
How will I receive the digital rewards?
When the campaign ends we will reach out via the email connected to your donation. We will provide a redemption code or coupon for a code for future releases if you got more than one eBook reward.
If you got a membership level, access information will also be sent via email.
How will I receive the physical rewards?
Art prints and letters will be sent to the address provided when you initially donate. Thank You notes will not be mailed with tracking so watch your mailbox a couple weeks after the campaign ends! Art prints will include a tracking number which will be emailed to you.
If you need to change your address you can email us at [email protected]. Please include the name you made the donation under and the amount.
Do you have to meet your goal to get the donations?
No we are using a flexible spending platform. So once you donate any amount it will be taken out of your account and sent to us. So be sure to only donate what you are comfortable spending! Watch the update channel as well to see how the money is spent.
I'm an author and want to pitch my book, does donating help?
Donating only helps us get our publishing company up and running which will give you a place to pitch! It does not make us more likely to accept your pitch, or read it early. Watch our socials or website for open calls for authors!
Do I have to redeem by ebook/physical book reward immediately?
No! Your free copy won't have an expiration date. Feel free to hold onto it until the perfect book hits our collection! Or use it as a gift for that book lover in your life.
Receive a free copy of any eBook in our library of publications! eBooks can be used on any eReader device or phone!
You will also receive the handwritten note reward.
If you didn't know, Jessika is also a paper-maker!
You will get a handwritten thank you note mailed to you on some handmade paper + a blank sheet for your own creative endeavors!
