Help us make naturally curly hair care easy

Hi, my name is Anthea Ancalade and I'm starting this fundraiser to help CurleeMe grow!

CurleeMe is a hairstylist directory and resource for kinky, coily and curly hair that I created and launched in 2020.

I created CurleeMe because I was tired of struggling to find a hairstylist that could take care of my natural hair. After a while of searching through booking sites and not finding what I was looking for, I thought to myself that it would have been so helpful to me and all of us Curlees if we had a website dedicated to addressing our hair needs. If we had a place where we could find hairstylists that cared for our curls in their natural state, provided protective hairstyles and provided information on how to better take care of our curls, wouldn't that be great? So in 2019, as a website designer, I took it upon myself to build out CurleeMe.

We currently have hairstylists from all around the United States and Canada helping our users. In addition, we have a blog with resources on hair care and a marketplace to find the right products for your hair. Here are some stats:

21,000 Monthly pageviews
11,000 Monthly visitors
742 Hairstylist profiles
30K Instagram followers

All this has been accomplished mainly from out-of-pocket funds because it's taking a sweet while for CurleeMe to support itself. We've reached a point where we don't want funds to hold back our growth. We want CurleeMe to help more people and here are a few ways we want to do it:

• Marketing & Outreach: We'll use the funds to market the website to get the word out! We want to reach more people who would benefit from our platform.
   
• Host events and workshops: We'll use the funds provided to plan innovative events and workshops to help educate the CurleeMe Community and provide a support system to help fellow Curlees embrace their natural hair textures.
   
• Expand our CurleeMe Team: We have big dreams and we need more hands to make them happen. We'll be investing in natural hair educators and hairstylists to help us with events to engage our community.
   
• Update the backend of our website: We want to build a better system for the backend of our website to add more features to our stylist dashboard for easy tracking and engagement with the community.

As we know, caring for our curls, especially tightly coiled curls has been a struggle for years. I believe the the lack of education on how to take care of our hair and not having access to the right hairstylists when we need help are some of the causes of this struggle. Many people have a hard time with wearing their natural hair because they are not comfortable with it and they don't know how to take care of it. I want to change that with CurleeMe.
