Hello, we are Blooms Resorts LLC, and we are launching our pilot resort Desert Blooms. Desert Blooms the first Black woman-owned luxury glamp resort designed specifically for Black and POC travelers to experience nature, adventure, and rejuvenation in Joshua Tree California.
Black U.S. travelers represent more than 13% of the leisure travel market in the United States, and in 2019 spent $109.4 Billion. Despite the economic contributions we make to the hospitality industry, we are still undervalued in not just marketing and brand representation, but in the amenities offered to us during our stays. In addition to this, according to MMGY, Black meeting professionals face hardships when organizing meetings with predominately Black attendees. 84% of organizers indicate some accommodations are more welcoming than other, and 42% shared their attendees have felt less than welcome in their previous stays.
At Blooms we don’t just tolerate Black travelers, we celebrate them, and provide amenities that places their needs as a priority. Whether it’s offering natural hair and skincare products to providing silk pillowcases, bonnets, and du-rags so our guest can rest with ease, Blooms is dedicated to providing excellence in the level of hospitality our guest deserve. Desert Blooms provides a truly unique high desert experience that allows guests to be fully immersed in the serenity of the desert, with all the amenities of a luxury resort.
We chose crowdfund because Blooms isn't just another resort or glampsite. We truly believe Blooms Resorts is at the very precipice of a fundamental shift in the hospitality industry. Crowdfunding also allows us to focus on the needs of our guest before those of investors or shareholders. We are utilizing the funds to elevate 25+ acres of beautiful desert landscape into an oasis eco-retreat. The funds we raise will go towards building our dwellings (reflective geodesic glass domes), establishing solar power, well digging, Curating native gardens, a clubhouse meetings or gatherings, cooking facility, and pools (because it gets hot in the desert). In the longterm our desire is to reinvest what we generate from this pilot location and plant Blooms all across the country.
A rendering of our "Dwellings" We want to thank you in advance for sharing our story, your financial contributions and overall support in helping us change the narrative of the hospitality industry. We look forward to meeting you soon at Desert Blooms or one of our future accommodations. We hope wherever you go in life you'll find Blooms.
