Who We Are

Her Code is a social movement.  Our organization works with school districts, teachers, afterschool programs and local communities to introduce kids to tech, in hopes, that it will ensure a better future for the next generation.

Our goal is to help 1 thousand kids learn coding by 2025.

What We Do

We teach coding to kids.  Why?  Because we believe that jobs in tech will ensure a better future for the next generation.  Most kids may not know what they want to do at 15.  But a lot of them know what they don't want to do.  Studies show that kids, especially girls, lose interest in tech as early as 15 years old.  The problem with that is, the fields that they pursue earn significantly less than tech.  Studies show that jobs in other fields earn 66% less than jobs in tech.  That could be tens of thousands of dollars that your child could lose out on.  All because they weren't exposed to tech and the wonderful opportunities it could give them.

Our Impact

Since launching in fall 2022, we've helped over 50 kids across Florida and Georgia learn coding for free or almost free.  But that number is too low.  We want to reach more and for that we need your help.

Now We Need Your Help

We're seeking funding because the kids that need this most are the ones whose parents can't afford it.  Kids that are in underserved or underrepresented communities.  We want to keep classes for those communities free or, at least affordable.   However, we found that was not sustainable without donations.  It costs money to host classes in safe and familiar environments.  It costs money to pay staff at their normal rates.  It costs money to supply the computers for the class because we know our students may not have their own.  With all the costs, it's not possible to do this on our own.  We need your help.  

How Your Support Helps

Here is a list of how we use your donations for each class:

1. Renting school facilities ($545)
2. Hiring school custodian ($230)
3. Hiring school security officer ($325)
4. Hiring local school teacher ($200/teacher)
5. High speed mobile hotspots ($178)
6. Internet for the mobile hotspots ($80/month)

7. Laptops acquisition and maintenance ($600)
