Help Save Petra’s Beauty Club – A Safe Space for Black Hair in LA

Petra’s Beauty Club is a Black owned and Black centered protective style salon located in the heart of Koreatown, Los Angeles. Created with care, purpose, and community in mind, PBC offers more than hair services. It provides a sanctuary where Black beauty, wellness, and empowerment come together. The space welcomes women, men, queer folks, and anyone who values a safe and affirming beauty experience.

The recent LA wildfires caused unexpected closures, power outages, and financial strain. This setback comes just two years after our founder Petra lost her first salon to a fire and rebuilt it from the ground up. Since then, PBC has become a trusted home for clients across the city. Today, that space is at risk of being lost without urgent support.

Even in the face of adversity, PBC remains committed to uplifting others. Just last week, Petra organized a donation drive for individuals directly impacted by the wildfires. She focused on providing essentials that help people feel beautiful and cared for, including makeup, skincare, haircare, toiletries, and clothing. This spirit of care reflects everything we aim to provide through our work at Petra’s Beauty Club.

We are raising $15,000 to recover, sustain, and continue growing. Every contribution helps protect a vital space that serves our community with dignity and love.

How the funds will be used

• $10,000 for rent recovery to avoid losing the salon
• $2,500 to support wages for our team
• $1,000 for restocking essential salon supplies
• $1,500 for outreach, marketing, and future community events
