Honey's Scented Company is currently on a mission to reduce household fires & health hazards that arises from candle burning. We need your help in raising funds to create awareness and open our first retail space to make products and teach kinds & adults in our community how to make bath & body products. Honey's Scented Company mission started after I found out that what I feed my body with, the types of products I use could affect my health and as a woman, my hormones! In summary, Honey's Scented Company's brand mission is to make & sell toxin-free, clean, safe and long-lasting products.
I am Oyindamola, popularly known as Honey, Owner/Founder of Honey's Scented Company. I have always been an entrepreneur from a young age of 19. I have successfully started and ran a few businesses in the past, ranging from fashion boutique, gift servicing, event planning to food/catering business and now to candle & scented company. I started Honey's Scented in 2020 around the time the pandemic struck. It started as a hobby and after a long search for a job, I decided to turn my hobby into a business so I could support myself & my family. Instead of buying largely produced products that could potentially harm me, I decided to start making my own toxins & phthalate free, safe, clean & long-lasting products for me & my family.
From my research, I found out that about 15% of household fires starts from candle burning (which is about 20 household fires daily) amounting to about $257 million damages in properties, 558 injuries & about 74 deaths annually around the US, not forgetting the health hazards of breathing in smoke, toxins/carcinogens from candle flames. So as a candle lover, I decided to provide a solution by creating my own candles without the cause of these problems, WICKS/FLAME! Wickless Candle helps to solve these problems that arise from using candle burning. Join our mission of creating awareness for Wickless Candle, a solution to candle hazards.
Honey's Scented Company is a candle & fragrance company specializing in handcrafted, clean, safe, long-lasting scented products, such as Decorative Wickless Candle, Car Air Fresheners, Room/Linen & Toilet Sprays, Body & Massage Oils, Body Butters, Hair Growth Oils, Bath Teas, Reed Diffusers, Curated Gift Boxes etc. We
also offer Candle Making Classes for kids & adults, where I teach them how to make decorative wickless candles, shaped wax melts, wickless bubble candles etc. Attendees select their choices of fragrance oils, flowers and herbs and I guide them on how to make their own personalized decorative wickless candles. This is a fun filled event with lot's of laughter and great experience and the fact that my candles are free of fire, toxins and health hazards, makes it easy for kids to also attend and be part of the fun. Who says only adults can have a spa or pour and sip event? At Honey's Scented Company, kids are not left out of our fun activities, they can also use all our skin safe and toxins free products.
Our flagship product is the Wickless Candle, which is a candle without wicks, no flame, hence, no fire, soot, or toxins. I created this type of candle when I noticed the fire hazard & health danger associated with traditional wick candles. About 15% of household fires starts from candle burning, & I wanted to help reduce and solve this problem. With a Wickless Candle, you won’t have to worry about trimming wicks, breathing in smokes/toxins and fire. To use a Wickless Candle, all you need is a Wax Warmer (which we provide our customers with) to melt the candle & release a clean unburnt scent.
We currently make all our products out of my kitchen space, and we have been constantly losing money on candle making classes because we have not been able to afford a bigger space to accommodate our attendees. Honey's Scented Company's new & pressing project is to open our first brick & mortar, a 2500SF store, allocate additional spend to create marketing campaigns to spread our company mission. Every year in the US, candle fires cause about $51M in property damage annually in the US alone ($257M between 2018 – 2022). Solving 1% of this problem, by converting wicked candle buyers to use Honey’s Scented Company wickless candles, means we can reduce property damage by ~$3M annually, which is barely scratching the surface. With your generous help, we can achieve this goal and hopefully set bigger targets. There are also injuries and in some cases fatalities that we believe this solution can mitigate, that one can’t place a dollar value on. Honey’s Scented Company is more than just a candle and fragrance company, we impact our community from a health, economic and sustainability standpoint, and empower women locally and internationally.
We are raising funds to build a strong community hub right here in the city of Dallas, Texas, which will continue to help us create more awareness for a safer candle option & ultimately reduce household fires and health hazards.
The growth I foresee for Honey's Scented Company is, opening our first brick & mortar store in Dallas. Texas, where we will have a production space, a storage space for our wholesale products from Africa, a retail space to carry our products as well as other local artisans products. Our store will also be used to hold our candle making classes/workshops, rent out to locals for small private gatherings and community networking events. This will help us bring in more revenue & eventually be able to hire 2 additional staff. Our most important ingredients in our body products are Shea butter, Coconut Butter/Oil, Cocoa butter and Black Soap, which are organically handmade in Nigeria, where I come from. Our goals is to start working with local Nigerian women who produces these butters and empower them, by buying directly from them and cutting out middlemen. This way we put the money right into their pocket and they get paid more for their hard work!. The money raised will be used in buying these butters in bulk from them, and will be sold to body products makers here in the US. This will also enable us provide raw, unrefined and original butters to makers.
Getting into wholesale will be another opportunity for Honey's Scented Company, supplying big retailers like Walmart, Whole Foods, Target etc., and boutiques locally and expanding internationally to other countries. Improving product packaging and branding, partnering with other businesses, creating new product lines, and working with corporate will also expand our outreach, sales and grow Honey's Scented Company.
Our team is currently made up of 3 people. We plan to use part of this fund to hire 2 more staff.

Who owns Honey's Scented Company?
Honey's Scented company is proudly owned and operated by a Black Nigerian Immigrant woman.
Oyindamola "Honey" Apanpa, a serial entrepreneur who has independently ran and operated a few successful businesses in the past. She started Honey's Scented Company in 2020 shortly after the Covid19 pandemic started, after she lost the two job offers that brought her to Dallas, Texas. Her decision to be more conscious of her health led her to do lots of research about the products she used on her skin, including the scented products she used around her home, like the common wick candles. This research led her to realize the household fire & health hazard dangers in burning candles and the danger in using mass produced products that she couldn't understand the meaning of the ingredients, which were full of toxins and carcinogens.
All these led her to making her own scented bath and body products and she's been offering her toxins free, long-lasting scented products to her customers. She also enjoys organizing and teaching kids and adults in her Dallas community how to make and decorate wickless candles. She would love to use her store as a small Dallas community hub to hold events and bring people together. She is also working to impact the lives of local Nigerian women back home, supporting them financially by buying directly from them to cut out middlemen and put the money directly into their pockets.
She hold a Masters degree in Marketing and Business Management, with her Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance. She was recently became a Honored Listee member of the Marquis Who’s Who of America where Warren Buffet is also listed.

- A: We don't have an exact date, but you can start collecting your rewards as soon as we open the doors to Honey's Scented Company Store. We're estimating that will be before the end of December, right around Christmas, so take our rewards as our Christmas gifts to you for your support. Certain rewards will be scheduled, like our soft opening party, and donors will be notified when that event is assigned a date.
- Q: Can I donate a custom amount of money?

- Q: What happens if we don't meet our monetary goal?
