Project Description

My name is Nika Dawson I am an American Heart Association aligned BLS Instructor.  I am from Atlanta, Ga, my mother Bridgette died of sudden cardiac arrest in 2017 in our home at the age of 55, she was a mom of 5 girls and 3 grandchildren. I started Heart Life Matters CPR Training LLC 02/2023. After working through Covid-19 at Emory University hospital in Atlanta Ga. as a phlebotomist, I feel like now is the time to give back on a personal level and honor my mom and others like her, and join the Heart Awareness and Stroke awareness campaign. I am an American Heart Association BLS/CPR Instructor, certified Phlebotomist and Medical Assistant with over 20 years of clinical experience. The need for Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) has continued to increase over the years, as cardiac arrests have become a common occurrence in different parts of the world. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), over 350,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests happen in the US yearly, with about 90% of them leading to death (AHA 2021). Therefore, a business that specializes in CPR training and certification can play a crucial role in saving lives. In this plan I present research study focused on the viability of a business grant for a CPR business in the US.

Based on my research of a CPR business. I found that CPR training business have the potential to thrive as long as they provide quality training services, affordable pricing, and effective marketing strategies. While the market for CPR training is competitive, Heart Life Matters LLC can carve out a niche based on our unique value propositions, such as providing mobile services in addition to high quality training.

Despite the potential for growth starting and running a CPR business can be capital intensive especially considering the costs of training equipment, overhead expenses and marketing. fortunately, through my research I found that starting CPR business is an excellent way to make a difference in society while running a profitable enterprise with the right training competitive pricing, effective marketing and specialized value proposition Heart Life Matters LLC has a high chance of success. I also found evidence of government and private sector grants for small businesses that can assist my CPR business in receiving necessary funding to make Heart Life Matters LLC successful.

My target market is anyone in need of certification. This ranges from teenagers looking to babysit, to teachers and coaches, as well as warehousing and distribution companies and health care workers. Many expecting parents now include pediatric CPR training in their baby preparation strategy.

Heart Life Matters LLC current need is equipment, marketing, and business mentoring,
